Yeah that does happen a lot in dramaland.

Honestly I like Xiao Lin. He isn't the most interesting character in the show so he sort of pales in front of others. But he is a good guy and has done nothing wrong, so he definitely deserves better.

Even with popular bls in the past they still covered much of the story even though they had to make changes. I wish they would apply this rule to dramas that haven't been filmed.

I still don't understand how this new rule works though. There are other upcoming dramas with more than 40 epis. I wonder if they are gonna shorten all of them or split them into two.

At this point in the drama, I am feeling very, very sorry for TTJ. Guess he is just destined for certain things and no matter what he or LSS does; he is bound to meet the same fate, just a bit differently. He doesn’t even have a choice. He has had such a terrible life being a hostage prince with no real friends or family. Now he finally has a family. It’s not just LSS/YWX but also Nian Baiyu, Pian Ran and YQY, who are his trusted subordinates and friends. It’s easy to see how he values their opinion and cherishes them. When people are good him, he can also be good. I really loved all of TTJ scenes with NB, PR, and YQY seeing how he can be so carefree with them but it’s also making me sad. With NB although it is a master subordinate relationship, NB actually feels assured enough to give him his opinion even if it’s about YXW. YQY is obviously a bit restrained with him but TTJ gave him enough assurance to him for him to give his honest opinion. And who would have thought that Pian Ran whose elixir he once wanted to absorb is now his sister of sorts, who advises him on his love life and has a bickering relationship with. He finally has a normal life, but he will eventually lose all of it.

How I wish they could have kept the original number of episodes.

I found one thing very funny. In epi 24 after the parade and dance, when those people recognized TTJ as 'his majesty' they were chasing after him fans chasing idols lmao.

Yes now I know ofc, but back then I didn't. I also watched the drama before reading the novel...and there was the donghua and chibi donghua too, so I sort of got my closure afterwards.

Do you mean that you love the ending? It was so disappointing to me as I was quite new to cdramas at that time. I just pretend that the special edition ending is the real ending.

I have almost finished catching up with all the aired epis. Now I won't have anything to watch on fri and sat. The pain of being up-to-date with an ongoing drama. What are you guys doing on fri-sat? Rewatching old epis or watching something else? I don't think I'll be able to watch anything else or I might start with the novel.

Epi did not understand one thing. Why did TTJ say he did not want YXW to know his handwriting changed? Why did his handwriting change? Is it because he was injured and didn't want her to know?
