Ok so if the character itself doesn't have much appearance in the book, than why should the character have more screen time in the drama? Yes, sometimes they can make changes but for this story, it doesn't seem necessary in any way.

I am starting to think she doesn't like LYX and BL. Didn't she drop their last drama too?

The title itself was enough to piss me off. Like please, give the audience some credit.

I just read the comments to get the gist and I'll stick to my decision of not watching that review.

I am in love with the Dunhuang style aesthetics of this drama. Right from the art style, posters, color palette and costumes, everything looks so beautiful. If I am not wrong, this is the first drama to have actually been so thoroughly inspired by the Dunhuang cave murals. The Shangqing realm and the clam tribe look so stunning. The wedding especially, with all the fairies flying and dancing looked ethereal. I love how they gave each character portrayed by the same actors a very distinctive style. I believe this drama is gonna be a trendsetter for future xianxia dramas.

Sure the drama is not without flaws. The makeup, costumes etc can be nitpicked but which famous drama is perfect in all those aspects? Name any hit drama, and if I have watched them I am sure I’ll find at least some blooper or two in those. Remember GoT anyone? Even that had Emilia's coffee cup lying around and final battle was immersed in darkness.

You can’t ignore the same aspects in one drama and criticize them in another. That’s not unbiased or objective. While loving one drama just for the chemistry and ignoring its countless technical and production issues,should one suggest to others that another drama can only be watched if considered as a video game? This drama doesn’t look like a game to me and it totally looks like a drama with all the right feels.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and can say what they want but the audience can also think and judge for themselves. This is youku’s no 1 drama in five years for a reason and youku has produced some really good dramas in the past few years. Objectively speaking, this drama has some flaws here and there, but I am so captivated by this tale already, I can happily ignore those and just enjoy the ride. Even youku’s last hit drama had its faults, the most major one being the 2 ML being having less screen time than even supporting characters and pretty much becoming a cameo. And yet people loved it. I myself love it very much.

So TJJ and YWX are gonna retain their memories from the dream arc. So the same happens with YBC and XL right? How is the dream arc going to affect their characters?

The novel readers have already explained it. The dragon/serpent is Ming Ye. That's his true form. You can already see at the start of the dream arc, when Ming Ye is fighting. He switches between the immortal form and dragon form. The world alluring jade was attracted to YWX/LSS yes but they have a connection that will be revealed later. TJJ and YWX are seeing themselves as MY and SJ because they got sucked into the dream.

I think because SJ created the world alluring jade, her essence is in it or something along those lines. That's my personal interpretation.
