Man the Emperor is one the best Emperors I've ever seen. His acting is incredible and I hope he gets his flowers, he balances compassion and power so well. Somehow funny, but yet, you dont write him off or think hes foolish.

Poor YS getting so much hate-- he totally deserves it though. But I can't help but love a pinning fool... wake up my dude you're in love! You've always been in love and you're going to lose her! If only you opened your stubborn, petty, jealous eyes sooner you dimwit. You're pathetic and adorable, 🤣
I'm loving all the positive discourse in the chat. I come here after every episode and I love to see the variety of opinions. To me, that’s what makes a good drama, while it's not perfect, it has me thinking. I can't wait to keep watching, what a fun ride so far.
FINALLY a drama with a boss female lead. She's like an old dragon, so cool. Her character was amazing, none of this "im dressing up as a boy but im really just a delicate flower" (im looking at you long ballad, pretending to be a dude with bright red lipstick, or only pretending to be tough, but theyre super shy). Or when end up changing her to be more feminine. Like no, this woman, walks, talks and acts like a man. She is fierce inside and out, but still very much a woman. Not mention this brings up very interesting topics of motherhood vs career. She loves ladies, never jealous, patient, loyal, funny. She acts like a seasoned general who spent most her life in the role of a man. The actress was incredible too, when she smiled, she lit up the whole room, when she cried I wanted to cry with her. Absolutely refreshing.
Props as well to the male lead, the concubines and the MLs mother, all fantastic roles.
I will admit, I skipped probably 1/3 of this drama, i just wasn't into any scenes that didnt have the leads in it, but its worth it just for them.
Wow, what a refreshing drama!! I love the FL and her friend so much! she is stunning. Not to mention the drama looks beautiful, lovely costumes, lighting, music, sound and editing! That production quality!
I also love how carefree and steadfast she is! She runs this joint and she so cute! Not a pushover but not annoying either, just really cool! Plus she has hobbies like cooking and fighting ahhh! The way she sat on the roof defiantly eating that apple? what an icon.
She not just "strong" but actually physically tricky and strong!
Granted, I'm only on EP 1, but the FL is ADORABLE. To each their own I guess, but she's so cute, she looks like what I imagine Toph looking like from AtLA! Can't wait to watch more.
