Didn't enjoy the perfect match either, I dropped it early on. Tbh alot of YZ dramas are meh, every few years sth like yanxi or the double will really top the competition, but other than that - meh. I'm hoping he gets more work like wanted detective or something villian-like, like his role in one and only. i think he plays both types well - smart detective types and two-faced ambiguous villians. alof of YZ's agency talent have stagnant careers after awhile and it seems hard to get out of his agency. hope WXY can do a chen xiao in future and leave

totally agree. at least she's portrayed as a female, like literally a female general. not as a male general - making the LOFG completely ridiculous to even watch. and yes i love the bow and arrow scenes, it's more about deftness and agility than the other one - using complete brute strength for heavy spears and swords which the actress cant even carry to fight multiple men in the middle of a warzone - just really unbelievable to watch.

She shows up as a way more mature female general. and Although I've always seen her as very dainty and demure, she has the gravitas of a general down pat. She and CL have alot of chemistry as well, so am excited for this. Can't wait to see how it unfolds though i'm usually not a fan of wuxia.

Haughty is how she comes across to me in general, she's a weak actress either way and yes lacks charisma. She's just lucky to be under hesong media, and the founder li bingbing pushes her alot. there are plenty of these kinda actors/actresses in c-ent - cant really act but pushed by their agencies/investors.

Cheng lei is cold like this in every role ive seen him in, have never warmed to him. Zhou ye is no better and brings a standoffish vibe to all her characters. Theres no chemistry and i dont like tje editing, the plot is quite messy/choppy n just not interesting. Also who tf even buys zhou ye as a general? Most ridiculous casting decision ever. Shes so petite and slim and has no physicality or athletic build whatsoever and we are supposed to believe shes killing men 2 to 3x her size on the battlefield and that all the characters around her look at her and think shes a man? Like whut??? I understand needing a suspension of belief for some stories to work but this is beyond ridiculous for me.

same i was expecting some dark revenge plot filled with action and fight scenes. im on ep 7 - playing it in the background and the fight scenes have been meh. the plot/editing is so choppy i can't quite follow. and yes to no charisma or chemistry from the two actors. i've seen their other work and was never impressed. cheng lei always acts the same and zhou ye always brings this strange haughty vibe to all of her characters.

for sure. if they marketed it as a romcom i wouldn't even be watching this HAHA. this is idol-drama fare i guess - always slipping romance in whenever they can - so boringg. Yes, these people treat the audience as stupid and the vast majority of the audience are, no offense. Like attracts like. These are the ppl who believe every PR rumor and are interested only in "shipping" strangers. The first ep of this drama on YT already had tons of comments praising it and it was like i watched a completely different drama from them. The ratings on this site are always super high for mediocre idol dramas I've actually started avoiding anything rated more than 8.5, cos i know it's gonna be bad. LOL

I find that alot of cdramas are like that though. Market it as female centric n feminist but you’ll spend 40 eps watching the FL get saved by the ML all the time.

I didnt enjoy the first ep of this drama, the plot n scenes had no flow and zhou ye is NOT believable as a general no matter how much armour they put on her. She just doesnt have the presence, the gravitas or the physicality. Nada. Theres only so much of suspension of belief im willing to do. Cheng leis expressions remind me of his MJTY character. A snoozefest so far given the massive hype, maybe it will improve 🤷‍♀️

Well said! I dont spend time here much at all because of the absolute echo chamber wheeevee one goes on the site. And fake ratings - 9 to 10 stars for every mediocre iidol drama out there. This place used to have very eloquent and fair users who could critque dramas well, are now a rare breed
