Just curious - does this get better as the eps go on? I'm done with ep 1 and am not very keen to continue with ep 2, despite being a HUGE Shin Hye Sun fan. My issue is not with the mental age or whatever silly thing netizens like to care about, it's more 1) I dont feel the chemistry between them 2) I cant really get behind stories where the women is so hell-bent on chasing down a guy. Like I know there's some "special" draw between them both cos of their past life connections but I honestly didn't really feel anything from the past live scenes that warranted her 19th life behaviour (to me). So the story is kinda falling flat to me. ABH is so so in his role so far - not feeling much from him, loving SHS but unsure about her character.

Seems like this show is pretty split with people bored/not understanding it one end (typical - same thing occurred with Little Women) and the rest just finding it awesome. I'm firmly in the second camp. Was abit hesitant to start it cos I read such mixed/negative reviews on Dramabeans, but wow I binged the first 2 episodes. Absolutely intrigued by Lim Ji Yeon/Kim Sung Oh. I have to say though, I expected more from Kim Tae Hee but so far she's just giving blank-face in a majority of her scenes. I understand her character is depressed but I find alot of her scenes fall flat.

It's just a money making thing at this point (everything about Netflix is about money). S1 unexpectedly blew up and they are trying to milk it for as long as they can. Follow up seasons will never be as good as the original. The female cast is meh - PGY doesnt stand out in anything she does except Dali (and that's more cos of her haircut), how does she even keep getting all these lead roles? The male cast also not exciting except KHN. Never liked Im SiWan and tired of always seeing the same old veteran male actors.

Amused at how so many people are already jumping into conclusions and assuming it is a romance (why is this even tagged as such) between CEW and KNJ when there is so little said about their relationship except an "entanglement". It's like My Mister all over again.

Considering this PD never directs romantic dramas and the writer seems to write more melodramatic/makjang-ish scripts, it's gonna be one that has more thriller/melodramatic vibes than anything else.

Other thoughts:
1) Is everyone forgetting Kim Kang Woo is playing the husband? And it blatantly says that he is in love with his wife (KNJ) and it seems like he had something to do with his son's death.
2) Nobody knows the role of Im Se Mi who will more likely than not have a romantic thing with CEW than KNJ.
3) Everyone forgets that CEW is still considered an idol actor, with a very "goody"/ambassadorial image in Korea, do you seriously think his agency will allow him to take a role which gets him romantically entangled/having an affair with a much older lady (like Yoo Ah In in Secret Affair), let alone a married one? His roles have all been romcom/webtoon/ideal man types of roles - all safe roles, except for Island which was him branching out and being more recognised for his acting. That had no romantic thing going on and was also a "safe" role in the sense that the role wasn't controversial. This will be along the same vein.
4) Ppl comparing this to Secret Affair (plsss this is NOT even close) and Glory (not even the same altho both have revenge themes, neither of the MLs were married in Glory and Lee Do Hyun is the go-to actor in Korea to romance noonas).
5) Ppl insisting that "love and redemption" is about romantic love.. plsss. This is mainly about a mother's love for her son and her seeking justice. It'd more likely be that CEW's character suffered a similar fate and the both of them team up to seek justice. And they bond and it ends up a healing journey for all involved. Bonding doesn't mean romantic bonding, people bond in many different ways. If you think bonds are all romantic, you needa go outside and touch some grass.

Some fans are soooo weird. Anyway I like 4 main leads, esp KKW and KNJ and will be tuning in when this airs <3

I've been loving this little gem of a show! Each episode is short, the stories are touching and super quirky and I just love how LNY portrays the lead character in each episode. Each leaves me with a gentle thoughtfulness and alot of warmth. Wish there were more dramas like this <3

I absolutely loved Love Destiny Part 1. I've rewatched the entire series at least once or twice each year. But this movie really wasn't it. The plot was draggy and boring and the loveline kinda random. I stayed for the chemistry between the leads cos I like both actors and they had some really cool scenes of traditional Thai culture/food/music which I love. But this is not a rewatch for me. Will be waiting for the second season of the drama though!!

Hehe I have some real cheesy/"out of date" ones that I go back to often - coughsSheWasPrettycoughs and coughsagainGoongcoughsloudly. Which had super bad misogynistic tropes but are my guilty watches haha. BUT YES! I don't go ard posting telling ppl they are amazing, criticising ppl who hate it and all. Mental gymnastics yes! The amt of defensiveness and illogical explanations they give for things, facepalm. Spineless mob mentality describes it - and is the #1 reason why I can't get into kdramas at all these days. I still enjoy some, but no longer can find a "safe" place to post my thoughts. Even Dramabeans which had very measured posters like 15 years ago lol has its own share of shippers/mob mentality, they just write in better English 🤣 There's literally nowhere you can go to post a thoughtful/critical response abt anything kdrama. Lemme know if you find any safe places! Wahaha I watched the first 3 eps on 1.5x and noped outta there. But the way ppl were waxing lyrical abt the story and the leads would have you thinking that it's the second coming of The Godfather 😂

U meant the ML from AOS? (Ew startup was bad and i only liked kang hanna from the cast). Yup i have NO idea how ppl are so absorbed in this silly show. Did u watch S2? It was even worse. And then u have the shippers. The ML actor seems to be launching his career based off this drama tho, doing fanmeets etc. So yes it appeals to only the shallow with no critical thinking skills (which are the majority of hardcore kdrama/kpop fans and MDL ppl). MDL used to have very measured reviewers. But it has been overtaken by rabid retarded fans. Kdramas have lost their shine for me tbh, and the fans make it worse. Am at that age where im super over these sort of behaviours

Yup I find it quite disturbing that ppl are uber focused on how EB hid his childhood trauma from her and broke up with her at the end of the ep when she's actually been an awful person throughout. I can see why EB divorced her in the first place and why he lied in a terrible way to do it - cos someone so controlling and self-centred as her would have used all sorts of manipulation methods to guilt-trip him into staying. She has not changed one bit and still makes everything about her. She and his mum literally manipulated and emotionally bullied him by lying abt the building to force him to have a child when the guy is still traumatised by his childhood. EB literally married a version of his mum. I hope they stay apart cos she's toxic for him - and that she goes and has kids with another guy who wants the same thing, without her having to bully him into it.

Yes! it's tough to learn and ppl just dont wanna change. some comments are like but they've been tog 10+ yrs! Which makes comms even harder imo cos at some point ppl get comfy and stop trying and just sweep everything under the rug. honestly this is one of the reasons why marriage/relationships dont appeal to me as a straight.

I thought she redeemed herself in that ep when he revealed he lied to get away from her, and you could sort of see her trying to be dif in that rlshp with Jae Gyeom, but once back with EB, she's back to her narcissistic me me me, selfish behaviour. She's no different from Bi Chwi, they just manifest differently.

I'm not surprised about their lack of communication at all. It's pretty standard fare in most rlshps I've seen and the no. of years of dating/marriage usually doesn't help to make communication better, sometimes it just gets worse the longer a couple know each other because things get swept under the carpet.

They are exactly like how it is in this drama - poor communication, one steamrolling the other, neither compromising, lying, guilt-tripping, dishonesty, hiding important infor about oneself, being selfish. having different values yet still forcing a relationship cause "emotions" etc. It's standard fare. This happens all day everyday in most couples I've seen, even ones I've been in.

She doesn't even try to find out why and she herself doesn't even know why she truly wants kids, except that they are cute (the worse reason to have kids imo). Nothing about hara has changed from the past, she still steamrolls him and uses emotional manipulation to guilt-trip. EB has his issues too - this whole childhood trauma should have been addressed way earlier and he could have been less passive in their relationship. I personally think they are better apart than together and would absolutely dislike it if the drama ends up with EB giving in and them having kids.

Same, I'm really enjoying this drama! more so than other commenters cos i'm in the same age group as the characters, and though never been married, I've been both hara and eunbeom in relationships prior and have dated people like them. One of my long term relationships played out exactly like theirs (I was EB in that case) and I ended up dg something similar as EB did when he lied abt his dirvoce. I've never wanted kids and avoid dating men who do, cos I don't see the point. It's something that rarely can be compromised on. But society (Esp an Asian one like mine) constantly harps on kids being the whole point of marriage and like the epitome of happiness, when in real life there are loads of ppl also miserable with marriage and kids. I personally love my freedom/personal space too much and am not a caretaking sort. Yes and i love this drama for its emphasis on being honest with yourself first, before you can have a healthy relationship with someone else. You really gotta know what you want and not bend to society's whims just cause it's "natural" and "what everyone does".

I'm absolutely enjoying this show, it's an absolute gem and a great start to drama-watching in 2023 for me. I think it's probably cause I'm at that life stage but I get how messy love and marriage can be. that you can love a person but feel stifled married to them or divorce them and still have lingering feelings. Don't really get the comments below about how the drama is messy. She didn't "suddenly think" she's still in love with him, they both are still in love with each other but clearly avoiding the elephant in the room.
The only loopholes for me or tropes at the moment (I'm at ep 4) is 1) how did they go from being in love to him having an affair (I feel there is something else that is not being revealed) 2) It's actually explained quite clearly in ep 1 why he introduced her to his friend- some legal stuff and probably to get them both to move on. 3) I dont get why they have to work in the same office, cos omg major awkwardness in reality pls, but okayy
Love the acting from both leads, KSR is really good in roles like this and JSJ is always super versatile and super hot. lol. Great acting from the rest too. I'm hooked!
