It's not about being reborn since human is made of memories, it's about her remembering her life and didn't act like a kids and somehow into this 8 years old. She has understanding of adult world already and she behaves like adult when she meets him.

But if you talk about age and counted the "she is reborn" as her new life, how is the 9 years old Ji Eum and 18 years old Seo Ha is even better then? The logic doesn't count both ways because a 9 years old Ji
Eum shouldn't be that madly in love with the teenage Seo Ha. The drama didn't help this plot point to be understandable

Honestly, idk if people are lenient towards female lead or harsher towards male lead

I think the problem is she didn't act like a kid , we all see how she behaves as 9 years old to the chicken ahjumma and how she talked to high school seo ha.
It would've helped if they showed her behave in childish way but all her younger scenes is about how she is more mature than anyone.
Even her mother in 18th life said that she is more mature than her mum.

I think the drama fumbled the early characterization, I am saying this as someone who love the webtoon. You can see that new comment about this specific topics keeps appearing, it's not just one or two people who felt that way.

The main concern is that the other counterpart is an 8 years old child.
Many gumiho and fantasy story usually start the romance when the counterpart is older, like 18 at least, after puberty, when the younger part actually knows about romantic interest. Age gap isn't the problem, it's when they met like how people care less about 30 years old and 55 years old but draw a side eye to 18 years old and 28 years old despite the shorter gap.

Also the scene with her being young and him being in high school doesn't help the imagery. You remember that she is older, but look younger and then the flashback of her 12 years old that like 8 years old is framed in mature ways. The scenes in the drama doesn't help the story.

it's quite long if they followed the webtoon, it happen on chapter 64 in the webtoon so probably pretty late here too.

It's mostly the editing, the scenes didn't carry the feeling to the next scene, short continuation between plot lines and so much flashback which makes it hard for our heart to settled in the moment.
Also the supporting cast just doesn't work for me, their scenes doesn't match the drama or idk, they just not working.

Wait, the reason why people are more accepting larger age gap in real life is because most often, the actors had agreed to be in this part =, they know this is acting and not real, they aren't portraying the same character, as example Mr. Sunshine. If a 21 years old accept the job with 43 years old, who are we to criticize them? It's their job, they know what they signed up for and you don't see this rage towards the drama like Mr. Sunshine or even The Glory.
The reason people don't like big age gap character is because the character supposed to resemble the living people in that story, to draw parallel with real life.

yeah, I don't want Cho won to be in love triangle also they change her occupation. This is the plot point of Cho Won and Do Yoon relationship. I don't think the story can be solved in 12 episode like they should've make it into longer drama

I just watched ep 1 and this may falter in the 2nd half but this one story when I get why the female lead falls for him.
I get why she is into him, not that just because he is handsome but also circumstances , ofc your puppy heart gonna fall for that. I hope the relationship in the next episode will evolved from the initial meeting.

but the webtoon and the drama will make the female lead and us thinking that there will be love triangle

The supporting actors in this drama is so good, they are really good in their scene, even the "present" boyfriend, they look the part and easily match the drama.

In ep 2, Cho won is applying to work in the hotel as landscape team and there is scene with her working in like big garden and greenhouse.
I don't think I ever seen her near flower in the webtoon.

Yes the rose magic trick, why they remove that. I am disappointed with so many scenes removed already from the webtoon. The webtoon first meeting is the mirrored scene from the library and it's iconic. At least for me.

Cho won though, she is not a gardener, not that it's bad but she is the heiress of entertainment agency and she actually work like an heiress, regularly meet other chaebol in social setting, her high status and demeanor is the vital point for her romance journey. If you make her looks humbled down this early, it doesn't work as much for the romance, it makes Ha Do Yoon struggled less important. Idk how to feel cause I get why the drama doesn't follow exactly like webtoon but Cho Won and Do Yoon is a gem.

yeah, they should've use another actor for the high school scenes, like younger, shorter and skinnier since Ahn Bo Hyun is massive, he is tall in big build and he doesn't look like high schooler.

I can get behind the teenage crush but the drama didn't make it that way, she keeps talking about true love and it cut to the childhood scene.
Story wise it makes scene but the scene they shows just keep making it iffy.

The dad just doesn't feel right but I can understand it.

it needs at least 20 for me, the original story is rich and 12 is too short, 16 is better than 12. Short doesn't always makes it better depends on the story they want to tell. Even at ep 2, it feels like the story tells such a short things but move on fast paced, so many scenes feels the same and didn't give out new information
