This drama should've been 20 at least, 12 is really too short for the amount of the original story. I wish this drama is at least 16 character since the abrupt ending will not makes sense.

Yeah, as webtoon reader, they changed many things and it small things but it frame the whole story like the Ji Eum and Seo Ha childhood story. It reframe the story and I know I shouldn't ask for frame to frame story, it just it doesn't make sense, EP 2 changes Cho Won character and I wish they don't do it.
The dad and the added step mum is straight disappointment for me.

Personally don't like how the dad's character is changed, how they changes Cho Won, the lovely badass heiress Cho Won who is quick witted is no longer here, it sadden me. Also Ji Eum workplace is now with Seo Ha, she has her job in the webtoon and not delegating to "find your own work" type.

I genuinely really love the story and I think the drama is good but there is things that just bother me like the blurry background and that high school Seo Ha who looks like jack up 25 years old getting proposed by the 9 years old Ji Eum (that also didn't happen in the webtoon). Technically it shouldn't bother me because she is like 100+ years old but still, the scene didn't help.

I think ep 2 gives more closure, drama wise I think it's fine. There is many important information but I think ep 1 is better.

On the other hand, I finally realised why I feel this drama is weird, it's the super focus shot to their face and the blurry background, it gives you 2D dimension and just feels uncanny, like you can't make up the background of where the character located and most shot is like their face. The transition scene is too abrupt, they were walking in the park and then shower scene and then dinner table scene with dad and step mum? This three scenes does not bring the same feeling or even the same image. Many scenes didn't carry the previous scenes or the next scenes and I was taken aback
The editing is too fast, the character is suddenly in another place without exposition or explanation. Also that mental image of him running away with little kid just doesn't work for me.
Also the supporting character isn't good , idk, they lack chemistry with the main lead.

The setting is so good and well placed in this drama, I actually know the type or room, the lobby, the view of the room, the dining hall, the busy staff, the amount of guest that we see in the background and the gym of this hotel.
It may looks normal but I find the director and the cinematography does really well in introducing this hotel as their setting.

I feels weird that some people find the instance in the plot unrealistic.
Like her not knowing how to operate the bathroom, the boyfriend dynamic and other work related problem since I find it super realistic, even to the stewardess helping the luggage, the hierarchy based setting, the hotel lobby and other division. It's a super big hotel, an employee can't work everywhere and didn't assigned in every single places, we've seen how big the hotel and how much staff they've had. Even in the first episode, one of the staff is telling her about how they can't get a lobby job that easily.

The boyfriend who cares more about his friend is also a common problem, it's easy to say that drama makes it unrealistic but this one is super common. I personally know several people who breaks up because of this.

Knowing the feature is different than knowing how to operate the stuff inside the room , that's why they all have different division.
Idk how this is unrealistic since I've been in high-end hotel and also have work related to hotel management. Even if I ask the receptionist to help me with something, other staff is the one who came to my room and actually helps me. The receptionist have to stay in the lobby to handle the new guest, they aren't the one responsible for the room, that's different stuff. It was explained how she is only responsible for the lobby and reception.

The bus scene is not that shocking, people don't think they'll see a sudden giant fish head in the bus, the head is massive.

Also the cutting a huge tuna is a real things in live raw sashimi style eating, you can even see it youtube. Rather than barbaric, this is how they show the freshness in that dining style, it's not super wild at all.

She isn't the cleaning division or the one who attend the guest, she is the lobby and the reception also it's the suite room. There is conversation about how she never been in other part of the hotel either because they work in different division.

There is that kind of couple, who is like "because you are my girlfriend/boyfriend you don't need to be worry about other people"
Spending too much time with friend is a very common troupe of breaking up in real life, you can hear people talk about how their significant other spend so much time with their friend and not having time for their relationship after they get together.
I think this one is so realistic and it gives context about why they break up, we've seen his behavior.

EP 2 is so much fun, I really like the hotel and it feels like the management is quite in order, some staff un-behaving here and there is understandable.
I live vicariously through all the hotel shot, the framing is good, the shot of the guest room is good, the gym and the bathroom is just so good. I like the way it look, you can clearly see the furniture, their stuff and the service. The smile, the other "staff" look the part, they look exactly like hotel worker , even when they don't have any lines, also the hotel looks busy. I just really like the setting that feels full in this drama.
Now that I think about it, this drama feels like it's promoting the hotel too.

Yoona does looks like the best staff, her body language, the way she stand, bow, walk and the way she smile that also looks fake but professional is just so good, it's the same with the male lead's older sister smile and the stewardess smile to the passengers. Feel bad for that friend but I've seen several report about how this happen on the plane.

Also this is so cliché that it feels comforting.

Yeah, the complex mystery genre in Cdrama has less episode and has different audience, which is quite fascinating.
With Kdrama, it's the trend that imo makes it felt heavily saturated, like they will have half a year or the entire year worth of crime or medical drama and then next year gonna be full of political or justice drama without some variety in the middle.
It's like after Agency is Divorce Attorney Shin and then Doctor Cha and it feels so similar, even it's a different drama and I think they all good but I want to get out of this divorce plot things already.

I am saying that See You in my 19th life don't have good editing while the King of the land is intentionally make the cinematography look older to resemble the old fashioned Rom Com. Therefore the See you is the disappointment for me, even just based on cinematography, especially the directing, it's distracting and less smooth then King of the Land.

King of the land is intentional and it may not the aesthetic that you like but you actually felt that it's outdated, therefore it shows that the cinematography is succeeding in showing you what they want the audience to feel. It also related to the setting since most of ep 1 supposed to be in 2015. Your comment said that the cinematography is bad but on one hand shows that King of The land succeeding in giving the old feeling as they intended.

I get what you mean, kinda feels iffy how the drama translated this since the webtoon did better about telling us why she wants to meet him again. It's like it's fine that she is 1000+ years old, it just she met him when he is 8 and the story goes to romantic story too fast.

I watched both simultaneously but more into Cdrama historical since Kdrama doesn't make long historical drama anymore ala Dae Jang Geum or Queen Seon Deok.
I am not sure about the how many people watch Kdrama but I can see more people go to Cdrama for the historical and and romcom fans. Cdrama has a lot of family based story, like suddenly become a family, hidden child, fake relationship troupe and youth drama, like School series in Kdrama, and drama that mostly about fall in love at work . Kdrama usually have other stuff in the plot like murder mystery in the romcom that many people don't usually like.

People still pick Kdrama for the sentimental story, justice type of story with darker and more heavier plot since Cdrama with heavier plot usually don't get translated and too patriotic. The Glory I think have help the resurgence of Kdrama again , especially on the internet and all the reaction in youtube but if you compare to Cdrama, it didn't really changes the demographic since most Cdrama in modern setting didn't really big on mystery. Kdrama has most of the production value in modern drama setting than Cdrama and Cdrama is big on their historical and fantasy setting so the viewer don't really overlapped.

Not to mention that the fans usually has different platform to watch, Cdrama is big on youtube, it's free and translated to local language which is how they get a lot of viewers while Kdrama is mostly on streaming and not translated to local language. I've seen Cdrama in youtube with subtitle range from English, all southeast asian language to the arabic language.

Short story, I think Kdrama still has a really good reputation among the viewer, Cdrama gains many new viewer and personally the reason why some people felt that Kdrama is no longer interesting is mostly because it doesn't feel satisfying at the end , the rewatch value is not a lot and the genre trend. Like there will be a lot of drama in the same category for months while in Cdrama, you still get variety even when it's not the trend.

This is gonna be long and I am not sure about how the drama turn out because they had changes several point with the webtoon.

In the webtoon, after she reincarnated, she did save up money to meet Seo Ha because she remembers that she passed away in front of him, she wonders if he is alright, having lost 2 closest people in his life (his mum and joo won) before he is 10 years old. The problem is she is dirt poor.
In the webtoon, they also didn't have problem hiring her because they know she is capable and they know the other dude trying to scout her so there is no interview about her getting the job or not, she just gets transferred as usual. Then first time they met also difference, she can't meet him directly because she is an employee, just gets a desk, he also work and it's a coincidence in the parking lot, a car makes the turn noise and Seo Ha panicked, she then helps him as mirrored to the library scenes when they first met in the 18th life. Seo Ha doesn't have hearing aids, because he can still hears from a certain distance but his mental health sometimes makes it worse with some triggers. Seeing his condition right now that JE find out makes her feel guilty about the way she left him since he grows up way different than the courageous brat that he was. After this seo ha called Ji Eum to his office to talk about the scout from the other company, this is when she talks about her motivation to change job and ask him out, it just she said it because he keep pressing her why she chose the hotel.

She told him several clues about why she likes him but it's ambiguous, first one is Childhood. We got the flashback, she did ask the chicken lady money but she can only manage to see Seo Ha once, also it because Seo Ha went to the park after fighting with his dad and they promised to meet the next week. Ji Eum money for next week is stolen and the next week after, Seo Ha was forced to go abroad (she had never stalked him) to aid his recovery, his hearing and his trauma from the experience of feeling Ju Won body's get cold on top of him for a long time before the rescued.
She keeps giving him clues and said that she'll confess 3 more times to him . On the way, she met her 18th life sister, they become bestie because the sister is into Seo Ha's secretary. Ji Eum keeps thinking about how to tell him so he can remember but her sister caught her first, then Seo-Ha manager accidentally found out this secret, the three of them try to plan JE confession about this secret. Seo-Ha try to deny his feeling to her (so frustrating though but understandable) but he falls for Ji Eum before knowing that she is Ju Won, JE brother accidentally find out about that the car crash is not accident, told SH and he tries to find out more. At this sequence, JE confess that she is Ju Won and give him the clues about the birthday box that he hadn't open. The box is about her reincarnation story. This conclude the romance I guess. They found out the accident culprit and then they have the battle for the succession, the 2nd lead romance and the mystery about why someone reincarnated with their memories, they met other people who also reincarnated.

Basically it's about helping Seo Ha regains his life and also making Ji Eum feels the present life. JE is a big flirt and that usually take the reader in shock. The story is quite a lot which is why I am not confident for the `12th episode, I just hope they can give the main story justice.
