Title Love Scout Spoiler
This drama has been a beam of sunlight in my life, I've been getting so much joy from watching the main couple, the second couple and all the stories. Like most people here, I'm also not that big on childhood connections and was prepared to overlook it but somehow they've made it feel less formulaic than what I expected. Maybe it's because they haven't added the "we met and connected as children" first-degree connection. Plus, it also helps that they've been very thoughtful and mature this entire show and show all signs of remaining that way. Anyhoo, the bigger conflict on hand is the future of PeopleZ. Invested in how they'll resolve that conflict. And of course, infinitely more invested in the relationships. Hoping for more heartfelt and direct conversations between the leads, which have been a speciality of the show. :)

don’t get me wrong I love ji yun but why would she be mad at eun ho for being saved by her father , it’s not…
I get what you mean but I don't think she's mad at him, it's just a part of her life that she hasn't processed properly. She's channelled the pain she felt into anger because sometimes loss like that can be too hard to live with. She feels resentment towards her dad bc he gave away his life for some stranger, knowing that she'd be left alone. She can't express these emotions in front of that stranger her dad saved, which is why she breaks down. But all signs point to her finally making peace with her dad so we shall see:)

We still don't know what ML's mother did for a living. What are your theories? Because I've got a feeling it's…
Diplomat. I think they mentioned she’s an ambassador

People getting 2nd Lead Syndrome for FL ex shipping her with him instead of ML is so tiresome. I hope ep11 FL…
“Her ex is super BORING personality wise. That has to count for something,” This made me laugh out loud at 7 in the morning and I feel bad about that bc the ex is really nice and sweet. Why’d you have to phrase it so hilariously😂 also the last para, so well expressed

After watching 9 and 10 episodes we can see that FL was really in love and happy with her ex. Although she once…
I think you’re missing the entire picture. She was happy with her ex when things were going fine. When things got harder, he was there for her physically but she wasn’t able to be emotionally and mentally vulnerable with him. Love is a verb not a noun, meaning it requires active learning and engagement. She fell into depression partly because she had no one to lean on despite being engaged to a really nice guy. It’s clear that intentions were the best but there was a lack of true understanding of each other. So is that truly love and a happy relationship? I’ll leave you to answer that. But to me, it’s clear that both understood it wasn’t meant to be. In conclusion, I think the FL has very much accepted that and is ready to move on.

Oh my, it’s going to be so heartwarming and thrilling to see her come to terms with her feelings🥹
Don’t get sad😌 be happy that we are able to actually comprehend this show and appreciate this writing. It gets annoying when people fail to get basic things and write absurd criticisms so write back when you want to. But don’t be too distressed by it. True Love Next Door enjoyers, let’s unite🤗

True! Also the reason why she rejected him was solely because she was still affected by her ex-fiance's words…
“…but also how he wasn't there to help her through it. ” I fully agree. She already felt used and left out by work colleagues. “Do you know how scared I was on my own?” she shouted to Seunghyo in the beach scene, which means she was never able to be vulnerable with her fiancé and felt alone. She had to stay strong through her cancer treatment because that’s what he expected from her. And the one person she wanted to lean on was nowhere to be found. That’s how you start losing faith and drowning in the sadness. The beach scene was so cathartic for her.

After watching the episode, I actually have no idea how people expected her parents and SH to all react like Moeum.…
Thank you for writing this! Agree to every word. This has been irking me a bit as well. I get that people want to praise Moeum for her thoughtfulness and she should be appreciated. But there’s a difference between a close friend, a parent and, well, someone like Seunghyo for whom Seokryu is everything. People need to hear hard truths sometimes. It gets messy sometimes. If Seokryu had behaved “ideally” after Seunghyo’s accident and not dragged him out of his cave, would he have been able to recover that well? Love is complicated.

Title Love Next Door Spoiler
One lesson from this episode that will stay with me for life is - when someone you love is down, you can't keep standing and attempting to help them from a distance. You have to go down with them and then get back up together. What Seunghyo said about hitting rock bottom together - wow. That was exactly what Seokryu needed to hear. Poignant, soul-touching stuff.

Not saying that the ex was beyond understanding because just like every other character, we can't expect him to be perfect. He might have felt one of them needed to stay standing. But the fact that he didn't think to reach out to her family shows that he couldn't see what she truly needed in that difficult time. Given her dependence on him bc there was no one else and his weak understanding of mental health - their breaking point was bound to come.

And what's even more telling is the fact that she was unable to be vulnerable with her ex. She kept feigning courage when she had cancer. In the beach scene, she shouts "Do you know how scared I was on my own?". 'On my own'. Despite her fiance being there, she felt alone. He wanted her to go back to being joyful Seokryu, not realizing that love means accepting all sides of a person.

When Seokryu's dad goes out to the garden to smoke because he's so stressed but then stops because, well, cancer - that was such great attention to detail. Amazing writing

I mentioned this in another post, but does anyone else feel like the FL takes the ML for granted? I don't recall…
This amount of cynicism about these characters implies that maybe you just don't get these characters. Or there's some projection going on. When people mean a lot to eachother, their relationship is deeper than tallying up transactional exchanges. But since you've asked... are we forgotting the whole Griep saga? Her helping them on the Griep project and meeting those people despite her history with the company? Her repeatedly asking about whether he got the school swimming pool project? Making food for him? Frankly it's all in front of you if you want to see.

I thought I cried enough because of episode 9 but didn't expect i'd be crying buckets all throughout episode 10.…
Fully agree with you. The depth and complexity of the writing is outstanding. They aren't afraid to walk on thin lines and bring out the inherent gray-ness of life. But at the same time there's so much hope and positivity too. They show us ways to deal with frustratingly difficult situations. The characters touch our hearts not just despite the mistakes they make, but actually because of them. So much <3 for the creative people behind this show.

I liked the focus on Misuk's drumming because it allowed me to think about it deeply. Earlier, it seemed like a way to let go of her anger and pent-up emotions. But this time, the drumming was more of a mechanism to keep hanging on. Like those repeated motions we do to calm down. Every time she was overwhelmed by the force of her emotions, she would restart the drumming routine. It reminded me of Seokryu and her imaginary cutting practice in her room after Seunghyo confessed to her.
