Not enemies to lovers. It’s about a woman who was betrayed by a man she loved (her husband) and was married to for a couple of years, so she is wary of men thereafter. She uses Duke Su, in the beginning, to help with her revenge. She is cautious of him and wants to stay away from him based on her past knowledge of him, but they both realize over time they are similar: both want revenge for different reasons, both are smart, both use each other for their own purpose, both respect each other and each other goals. Many people say it is a slow burn romance. This romance is not physical, it’s more a duel and dance of wits and wordplay, subtle hints of growing affection in their words and mannerisms. I’d say Duke Su has always been smitten with her since he first saw her (as a married woman) at around EP2, but he keeps it on the down low until about EP9 when there are more obvious hints he’s paying more attention to her. Fang Fei starts to soften around EP11 because of his constant help and then shows it more obviously around EP15. There are 2 kiss scenes and they are at the very end of the drama - hence many think it is not “romance”. For me the romance is in their interaction and not necessarily just the kissing…, but to each their own. It really depends on what you like.
If you haven’t seen it, I say, give it 5 episodes. If their interaction during that time is not interesting to you, then maybe it’s not for you? Hope this helps!

I have not seen CD yet, so watching this on its own, I’m enjoying the vibe…dark, suspenseful…i wonder how it would affect me watching CD next.

I’m on the 3rd episode and i have to say, the ending songs have been great. I usually don’t listen at the end and move on to the next episode, but the ending songs here reflect the mood of the episode and it’s nice to hear that. I know they can’t keep this up for 36 episodes, but it’s a nice touch for these first couple. Loved the rap on EP ending song and Liu Yu Ning for episode 3! 🥰

though it’s not the ending that my heart wanted… i still liked it.

I’m here because I saw Song Zu Er in TPOB and loved her acting. She delivers here as well. 👏 and props to Ren Jia Lun as well. 👏
