You wrote your review well! reading through it felt like a reflection than a review. The analysis you offered about WYF and SY resonated with me. I specially love your take about SY, it is such a good reminder that emotional intelligence and devotion shouldn’t be mocked. He’s not a “simp,” he’s just a good man who loves deeply and grows through it. I enjoyed reading your review 🌼💛
Your review is beautifully written and seems more like a love letter to the drama. You emotionally articulated each word and sentence. I specifically love your character breakdowns of Sang Yan and Wen Yi Fan, you didn’t just list traits, you understood the characters, their psychology, and their emotional arcs. It shows deep empathy and insight, your analysis feel both authentic and thoughtful. Thank you for writing this 🌼💛
This is a well-written and heartfelt review! You clearly put a lot of thought into it, you’ve made a great case for why The First Frost is more than just a romance, it’s a layered exploration of love, trauma, and healing. I agree with you a lot about the HK arc 🌼💛
I'm currently watching HL, and I'm liking it. How is TFF different (if it is) from HL and what similarities does…
TFF doesn't share the same plot/story as HL they are completely different from each other. Like what the user had mentioned above shared universe and sang siblings are their only relation. TFF tells more about SY love story but it focuses on WYF pov hence we are taken to grasp more about the female leads life and her traumas. To put it simply, HL has a fluffier story while TFF is the opposite, it balances melo and fluff well with slow burn romance where the leads love for each other is more mature and they thrive in growing and overcoming obstacles together. I still would recommend you to watch TFF after completing HL because this is the story of the real SY. The SY in both novels of Zhu Yi.
They did a poor adaption with the make-up though. That was a conversation had after not seeing each other for…
'poor adaptation'? hmm if anything this is the best adaptation and they did justice to the novel I love the change they made here and they handled her trauma very well. My comment above still stands but you do you, many of us are loving this change 💛
I was rewatching TFF and noticed in ep 4, when Xiang Lang asks Sang Yan whether he knew that his roommate is going…
SY only wanted to rent a place at WYF apartment complex but it wasn't in his intention to live in the same exact unit as her. He is simply trying to annoy XL.
Beauty of Wen Yifan's love for Sang Yan:(contain spoilers)-She didn't need to see Sang Yan's face to realize who…
I don't know why WYF love for SY needs to be written down in text format when the drama had already shown and highlighted her love for him many times. Well I thought it was easy to comprehend and notice, it feels quite unfair. Anyway, thank you for jotting this down. WYF you are so loved 💛
At first when I was watching while it was airing, I didn’t like the storyline at all but after seeing how it…
i'm glad this arc came around for you at the end of the day, the "yearning" is what made this drama even more special and the director's insights about this certain arc was really well-thought of
