Lol I don't know about you but I don't have that much time in my hands to write so many articles while I go to…
I agree with the points made regarding improving the organisation and structure - it can really make an article much more enjoyable to read (and relate to). You needn't write several articles however, simply sectioning it off based on similar themes would work. Also, as you said yourself, some expressions may be misleading (eg. 'Kdramas are best') so perhaps you'd like to make clearer statements. Anyway, I just wanted to add onto the constructive criticism, hope it's not unwelcome.

I agree to an extent though I do feel that Doumyouji underwent better development in the manga - though he started…
Perhaps that is the case (although this is all about the drama only), but he did some things then that can never be compensated for by such meagre development, much less forgiven for it.

Did you find the Chihayafuru movie to your liking? :D I can totally understand being concerned (I felt the same…
Yeah FMA does indeed have much larger, more plot-heavy story. But I personally always find adapting an anime from fantasy genre the trickiest aspect of a live-action - because animation has the freedom and flexibility to do what live-action never can, so when when they try it often turns weird :/

This comment may be unwelcome but.... while I completely sympathise with fangirling over Matsu Jun I've never understood how one can even like a character such as Domyouji. He was not only an awful person but also a character that didn't undergo development nearly as much as people make it out to be. HYD has always been the most mysteriously problematic-yet-overhyped drama to me.

Ahh unfortunately I can't honestly say I liked it that much, because due a movie's restraints they had to cut/rearrange quite a few things that were crucial imo. But nevertheless I'm very grateful to the movie series for giving the animanga more exposure - especially because after years the anime is finally getting a 3rd season! If you're into anime and haven't seen it I'd highly recommend it!! :D

Omg same here about the FMA movie and haven't yet seen it either despite also being a huge fan (just look at my name lol)

Nomura Shuhei may be one of the very first J-actors I came across... I'm a huge Chihayafuru fan so when the movie was first announced I was both excited (for the publicity) and concerned (for the quality). I didn't watch dramas back then but I remember liking Taichi's casting the most - Nomura looked rather good in his hakama and dark auburn hair in the promo photos. ^^

You're welcome :D I'm glad you enjoyed the article. He was amazing in Kazoku Games, loved his character! ahaha,…

This is it.

I have long overcome my need for 'strong female characters' and have since yearned for the much more elusive: well-written female characters. The sign of a good drama is when its women are characterised strongly rather being strong themselves. And that is a precious rarity I hope to see more of.

Although, I have to say this 'problem' is more dominant in romance genres (which in turn is more dominant in Kdramas) while I have found a fair number of interesting, well developed female characters in non-romances, Jdramas in particular.

This is very informative, thanks! Kamiki really caught my eye in Kazoku Game - one of my very first Jdramas when I barely knew anything about J-actors. He has so many works, I'm looking forward to exploring them all!
(Btw am I the only one who thinks he looks a little like his fellow Amuse actors Nomura Shuhei and Miura Haruma!?)

P.S. Do you take requests for Stalker's Guides? I'd appreciate so much if you do one for Ayano Go, esp since MDL doesn't have much info on him.

I'm most excited for 'Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju'. I watched the first season and I was blown away by it. Hope…
Nice to see someone else anticipating it! I hope you check out season 2 of the anime too - even though I loved S1 the sequel somehow managed to surpass it in its brilliance! :)

I'm soooooooooo excited for Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu!!! Thank you for linking the rakugo Wikipedia page! I hope this drama will create more interest for this fascinating art as well as the beautifully written anime (highly recommended) and manga!

P.S. I noticed it's not included in the demography table - it's a 'josei' manga btw.

Even though I'm not really a big fan, I'm really thankful to the movie series because Chihayafuru is gaining more popularity because of it and best of all - the anime will also get a much awaited season 3!

For those who enjoy this story of karuta please check out the anime and manga!!

Good article!

Totally unexpected though. I was surprised to see someone sharing so many of my opinions (which is among the minority lol) regarding characterisation - it's probably the biggest factor for a good story in my eyes. Special mention to Misaeng, thank you for actually highlighting the exceptional character study in this show!

I'm only halfway through this drama and I don't want to finish it because I'm enjoying it so much, especially Ayano Go as Konotori!

There's one point that's puzzling though - why do they seem to not know the gender of the babies until they're born!? There are multiple instances where the doctor or midwife hands the newborn to the parents saying "It's a boy" or "it's a girl" when it can be confirmed way beforehand in this day and age....

Person Ayano Go
It was (practically) love at first sight for me in Soratobu Kouhoushitsu - my first and favourite drama of Ayano Go to date. I was absolutely charmed by this actor's expressive face, the way even his smallest gestures from the arch of an eyebrow to the tilt of his head conveyed so much. To watch him is utterly compelling, I knew I had to hunt down every single one of his works.

Several dramas and a handful of movies later, I'm more intrigued than ever! I really hope they make more use of his incredibly versatile talents and cast him in more diverse, challenging lead roles.

P.S. Someone make an entry on Ayano in the Stalker's Guide series please and thank you!!
