Saying that is the same as saying you can guess the plot of all romance kdramas. Like wow I can totally guess…
Yeah pretty much what you said. It's in the vein of sitcoms like Parks and Recs and The Office. Quirky offbeat characters and their life and what not. Judging by the writers previous work, she tends to write shows with heartfelt themes on family, marriage, love, and work which this show is.
what are the chances that the sick son of YGJ's first love is his son??
Lol, I thought about that too but I was like isn't that too makjang? I think those are saved for their daily dramas lol. I hope not because that would be a big deal breaker and a bit iffy. Hmm...
It will pass by very quickly! 16 eps are already completed. The other 84 will be over sooner I feel.
This is the first time I watching a weekend drama, and we are already 1/5 of the way there!! 40 episodes since the public channels split their episodes into half since the cause, so it's not bad! It's already passing by quickly, with 4 months to go!!
THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN PROTAGONISTS IS CRAZY !!! i feel my heart stop when they are smiling. kim dongwook was already…
Kim Dong Wook is the perfect combo of sexy and cute. Give him more romance leading roles after this Drama producers!! He's like the perfect boy next door vibes. UGH I'm in love haha :)
The first episode brought tears to my eyes, I am usually iffy about melodramas but wow first impression this touched me emotionally. First time I felt this way about a k-drama right off the bat.
After 10 episodes in, I'm still not sure how I feel about this drama.
Same. I do like it and it has a nice ease and flow to it. But for some reason, it hasn't grabbed me emotionally yet? For some reason, the age gap in rl is a bit eh considering the FL's voice is a bit peppy, so it takes some time getting use to it. Good drama, but it's missing that extra something that takes it to the next level imo.
I'm in the same boat as well. Why isn't this more popular? It even has steamy makeout scenes too?!
I think its b/c the drama landscape in 2013 was so different/rom-com focused. It was also airing on tvN which wasn't the big channel we know now. It still holds up, and this is LJW's best role by ffaarrr!!
lee kyung young is an excellent actor but i still can't forget that he's a statutory rapist. can't believe he's…
I also think about Rob Lowe who is now beloved because of The West Wing and Parks and Rec, when he too had sex with an underage woman. Gross all around. Also it sucks that this guy is in everything, WTF?? Good on KBS + MBC for having some morals by not casting him!!
There are heartbreaking moments, but I think for the most part it isn't overtly melodramatic that it puts you off. The episodes length is short, so it won't dwell too long. You will be touched more-so after those moments.
how come Park Shin Hye keeps doing dramas with male leads much older than her ? I don't have a problem with big…
Lol, ikr? What gives? She was just in roles that were teenage-young adult ones a few years ago. And now she gets cast with older dudes, who are talented but it feels like its been a while since she's been cast with someone around her age.
THIS WAS SO GOOD. I haven't heard much about it and I've never had it recommended to me but because of Ji Sung…
I'm in the same camp as well! I heard about it but I put it on the back burner. After watching something so heavy, I wanted to watch something a bit lighter. So when I found that both Ji Sung and Han Ji Min were starring, I was like YES!! I'm so glad I did because it was such a great show!
Just finished episode 12. If there were more than four episodes left, I would drop it. I don't understand the…
The high rating was attributed to the fact that it's a story focused on three strong female characters who are independent, strong willed, and how they navigate their life. People here found it to be refreshing to see in a K-drama, plus the dialogue is witty and the relationship wasn't the main focus in the beginning of the drama.
I think it's a great show, and while I did find Ta Mi/Mogun's back and forth in the beginning refreshing I think the separation would actually help in their case. As for the tv ratings, it should be higher but its not bad its doing ok as its clips do really well in SK and some of the actors are on the Top 10 list every week. Ratings don't indicate one's quality btw.
I think that it's important that we see more portrayals of complex female characters especially in K-dramas, so this show I think will be looked back fondly when hopefully more female centric dramas air.
Half-way through. I keep thinking about how disappointed I am in Jank Ki Yong. I liked him in "My Mister," but…
Aw. Maybe the So Ji Sub school of gazing prettily lol jk. He was good in Come and Hug Me (He had those creepy mannerisms pop up which freaked me out). And I heard he was excellent as a creepy/threatening figure.
Maybe if he showed a bit more change in his facial expressions that might help your case? Also the role written for him isn't the main focal point, compared to the other women on the show.
According to the Viki page and self-written character descriptions (https://www.viki.com/tv/36618c-search-www),…
YES to everything you said!!! I 100% agree. Is the character too perfect at times, maybe? But he's been very supportive of her, and in the first episode he didn't put his cell phone # until he got her consent to do so.
I think that in an American drama, this is the norm a la Sex and the City with the revolving door of partners. He's there to support her/be her emotional springboard, and that's ok. It's not his story, he's just there as a prop for the three main strong female characters. Refreshing tbh, don't want the dating stuff to overwhelm the story anyways.
Also there was a moment where in the recent episode where Mo-gun's character steps in to help a female character, and I thought that was actually a nice moment. Who knows, they' might give him more characterization later on but for now people who watch romance K-drama shows this is the gender role reversal but this time the woman is the alpha in the relationship and the man is the one who leans on her for support.
