wen ying is actually mu yan all along, he was the culprit behind everything due to his hatred of qian people. cue epic long fight sequence. he disappears. the ember has been inside jiu er all along and the reason why han zheng's touch heals her is because he comes from the bloodline that the ember is passed down to. she sacrificed herself by removing the ember in order to save the qi people. he takes out his own vital stone in the hopes of saving her. he loses his power in the process so he's pretty much an ordinary person but she gained powers. they both survive and get married. the treaty gets signed. they get a novel written about them titled "warm on a cold night". the end.
thank you to whoever was responsible for casting CXX and LLD! you can really tell they’ve been acting since they were a child. the emotions and nuances they were able to convey in each and every single scene was so good. as expected from our experienced actors. ❤️

no but i think that if we weren't aware of the fact they obviously filmed something different then we wouldn't be raging up a storm like if that was truly the ending then okay whatever it sucks but what can you do about it? it just feels deliberate 🫠🫠
