I don't care for the rest. For me the drama and on the first arc. But we don't really know what's happened with the couple do we. These years could be another separate drama. The ML's acting was superb here, the emotions showed profoundly yet subtly. The FL is beyond beautiful; I don't know the actress from anything else. Here she was prettier than all the old Hollywood actress and made in the very style. Ryan looked gorgeous in that hairstyle too. What got me besides the two were all the males and the astonishing sudden EVIL of each. I see the jumping into the second arc as very flawed artistically. Complete disaster. So please just make Season 2 for the first 10 episodes with the couple's story complete. Though I am also frightened by all the historical possibilities of their end.

Yes!!! It was only after I READ THIS EPISODE IN THE NOVEL... in an awful automatic translation to Polish that I understood the TRAGEDY OF THAT SCENE - which was crucial to understand everything else that happened later. Even though it was lapidary and badly translated I CRIED IN MY SOUL for what was happening. I heard the breaking of the heart of Wolfie and armed with this knowledge I watched the rest of the drama which still is my most beloved Chinese drama ever. The production end everything else deserve it. Also from Wikipedia I had learned the historical context of it. It's not a fantasy. it's a remarkably deep interpretation of the historic events and characters that is almost realistic. From the beginning till THE END. Prince Bo was real. And so were all his brothers and the ambitious and cruel father. I admire the author for developing this story bc even Wolfie is practically real and possible - especially one thousand years ago. I discovered Daren Wang in this drama and still am praying that his career ill fit his astounding beauty, charisma, and talent. Hope for him and Jackie Chan to meet professionally AGAIN. She made his best movies too.
I love it! I am watching it on Iqiyi and the subs are indeed raw. But I love the leads and the story with unusual teen girs characters. It all fits. Very well directed. Smooth and good fast pace. I usually don't understand the intricacies of spy dramas but here it is very well presented, as complex as it is. Yes there's bromance not only in the entwined biographies of the two leads whose acting is splendid. So is everyone else's. I only wish for a Chinese drama with good actors as the white Westerns. So we have to briefly suffer with the typical caricatures. I am very supprised there's not much following on MDL. I place it on par with the Rise of PHOENIXES
