The game is significant to the main plot for her character growth and romance. Also we have not seen the whole game plot yet, just some aspects through certain characters.

Si Yun and Cheng Ao wanted to help the people and make the country better. They even stayed back during war. These characters would not move abroad to do business. Si Yun would never stop being a doctor. I'm happy they survived because I was anticipating some tragedy but this one line ending is much disappointing.
