The only problem with this drama is the normalization of the sick behavior of korean fandom culture, I have no other complains. Of you don't like cliches and slice-of-life, just don't watch it because you probably won't be able to enjoy it
The fact that you prefer the old drama style... Romcoms now a days focus more on life conflicts, indeed, but it always comes with something that the leads need to learn and evolute. Her Private Life shows a mature couple that actually try to fix the problems, and not to run away winning about how they were hurt - like the old style loved to do. It's was about loving, forgiving, grow up and deal with your ghosts. I also find childhood links a rather meh thing, but it was very well made in here. Actually, everything you complained about was amazingly done in Her Private Life. Sadly you can't get yourself to enjoy it
The plot is exactly like a cliche fanfic written by a 13ys lol I enjoyed it a lot tho, I love this kind of cliche and the cast did a good job. The chemistry was on point too
i'm thinking about dropping this drama since somehow there is no character development in this drama. honestly…
Also, the it's title is literally The King's Avatar, of course the main characters will the the main lead and his gaming, what did you expect lol Still, it did an amazing job portraying every relationship

Almost every character had a problem that was solved, how can there not have character development? And, well, if you don't like non-romantic dramas then you should just not watch or state if the drama is good or not, because it's not bad, it just doesn't fit your taste
