Yes!! I feel the exact same. Despite all I feel about these shows, I do still enjoy watching them. I'm just hoping we'll see more authentic queer storytelling in the future.

I agree a world like that would be so beautiful. The no-labels universe in theory is amazing, however, it seems the industry explores it because it is a little convenient for them especially considering a lot of the other aspects of their queer representation is quite narrow. I've noticed while watching BL shows, that it feels like the intention by production companies is to maximise the entertainment value for their main demographic (hence money) rather than be a power symbol for the world.
I guess there are beautiful aspects to queerness that I wish we saw more in BL like self-discovery, acceptance, and even gender expression. Especially, in a world where even though we are getting more queer representation, it's still quite limited.
I do agree that BLs should represent the community factually. But look at, for example, "Mame". Many of those "thrillers"…
My exact feelings on why I think queer topics are avoided in BL. After watching BL over the years, it's intriguing comparing it to how western gay romance depicts queerness in media. Shows like Heartstopper which some consider too soft on depicting queer people vs catering for a straight crowd are significantly less soft at depicting it than BL. I feel like it's to maximise money by catering to what the biggest demographic group desires, but neglecting the very community they are depicting. I wish BLs could find a bit more of a middle ground between more accurate representation but still finding that light hearted entertainment value.
I was glad to see coming out a topic of discussion this episode, so few shows touch on it. Does anyone know why sexual identity is kind of avoided in BL? For example, characters using the words bi or gay.
LOL what was the confusing part? it was plain and simple as white bread LOL
Ah okay thanks ๐ yeah I was skim watching because it was 3:30 in the morning and I had work ๐๐๐. I think I got confused with that hospital bed scene Iโll watch it again tonight. I wasnโt expecting them to go in the direction. Seemed sort of forced to give us a nice sweet ending. Might be jumping the gun seeing I didnโt watch it properly.

Iโll just have to watch it again tonight because Iโve clearly missed something important. Are you saying 12 4/4 he see agains is some years after the wedding and then they flashback to three years (but still after the wedding) back where they reattempted his surgery and he could see again.
Alternate ending how? What are you confused about?
Idkk??? Iโll have to watch it properly tonight. Ep 12 3/4 the man was blind but then 4/4 we flip back to three years before l and he can see. Is it like an episode for his hope and dreams? I didnโt have time to fully listen to the monologue despite skim reading the caption didnโt quite make sense to me.
omg I'm so confused. I had to skim watch the last three episodes because it's 3:30am and I have work tomorrow but can someone explain ep 12 4/4 for me? Is it like an alternate ending orrr?
this was a really weird episode, it felt like the writers after dragging the conflict for forever were forced to conclude the show anyway possible. The conclusion felt very unearnt.
In the comment section all complain, but this has 7.7 rating. And in all honesty, we are not watching this for…
honestly if they showed more six packs each episode, then I could of looked past the poor storytelling especially in the later episodes but they have starved me of both!
