It's crazy to me how every Jimmy and Sea series however bad are always hyped. I haven't seen this but after being gaslit by fans during Vice Versa I'm hugely hesitant.
Maybe I'm getting a bit old, but this show feels like I'm watching a tween drama where they try to incorporate lessons for each episode. It's like omg I learnt how to process this basic emotion. Japan really seems to like doing these type of dramas, but for me it only really works for dramas set in high schools.

Hi I thought I was an outlier 😂. I really wish I liked this show. The premise is awesome but I wish the show took itself more seriously and taken a slightly more darker tone. The humour didn't really make me laugh and made scenes seem like a joke at times but there were just so many scenes that were out of place.
The key things that stood out for me were: 1. The initial few episodes were heavy on the Kant and Bison scenes to the point that they neglected developing the story. 2. Bison's naivety and Style's pestering was frustrating at times. Bison is 25? but he often acted like a child. Also Style, it was crazy to me that he crashed the support group for the loss of a loved one. 3. The climax of the show where Kant and Style get caught out for their lies was the biggest let down for me. Kant and Style don't look scared for their lives. We don't see them really contemplate what they can do to escape or talk themselves out of it. 4. The car motel scene didn't make sense. Style is acting like he's on vacation up until he starts to cry. Why isn't he thinking about escape? He's too busy flirting. 5. The introduction that Kant has trauma from water at such a pivotal moment? It should have been introduced more in-depth earlier in my opinion. 6. The mother storyline feels half-fleshed out and it was so predictable that she was the villian.
There were tonnes of small things that really just added up to disappoint me. What were major standouts for you?
I'm kind of speechless... After waiting months to binge this series I was expecting this show to be much better? The plot was a complete afterthought. So many scenes I like but the whole show feels very inconsistent and takes many strange directions.

I think you may have become accustomed to the narrow portrayal of the queer community in BL. I have always summarized BL storylines as two straight guys turning gay for each other (controversial I know). One night at a gay club and you will find a diverse group of queer people whose gender expression is equally diverse.
Alll I can say is wowww. what a brilliant show. I know it's not a BL but we get really wonderful magic when a gay romance shows are not written to sell a pairing.
Just curious, why do people ask if a show has a sad ending? For me at least, that's a part of the excitement of watching. No hate at meant, just entirely curious.

It kind of makes sense though, as BL fans aren't a monolith and would want different things. I'm a bit concerned about the 24 episodes but maybe they will rework the format of a standard BL show. I feel like the 24 episode american style was more of a network tv thing which has kind of died off and a lot of shows these days are more the netflix 10 episode style. Also each episode will need to stand on it's own, like it does in network tv. For example, I could start watching any episode of Friends and can be hooked. The 10 episode format generally requires you to watch starting from episode 1, which is doable in the days of streaming.
