Hey thanks for your response :). Yeah the commercial aspect of BL content is just a fact I have to accept. I'm hugely grateful of BL fans (fujoshi's specifically) because without them this media would never exist.
However, it's been frustrating in particular when someone comments something that's problematic about the show and people pretend like it's not an issue and attack the person (not talking about you though). It's okay to enjoy a show while noting down the issues.
I think you're right to a degree with the dialogue. Maybe this line is pretty insignificant in terms of LGBTQ+ representation in BL, but for me it's the time in a show I'm reminded that a show that is representing part of my identity finds the concept of a character being labelled as gay/bi/etc. unpalatable.
But maybe I'm reading into it too much and I'm always intrigued to hear what other LGBTQ+ people feel about this content.

Even though BLs may not have the intention to represent the LGBTQ community, BLs depict gay love so it is in fact representation.

I agree with you on the fact that people have the right to live their sexuality the way they choose. However, this is a show with created characters and the "I don't like men I only like him" line is so over used in BL. The main problem with this trope is that it is used to make character(s) more marketable to straight women which by having them appear as straight but they fell for a dude.

There are better ways to address a question about the characters sexuality without have to explore it further eg. "I'm not sure", "It's personal", "I might be bisexual", "I think I might be pansexual" etc.

Also sexuality/sexual orientation is a part of you sexual identity.

Hahahaha I'm really enjoying this series. I'm not really sure what to expect. I'm a bit worried they won't have time to flesh this series out decently.

I would of preferred a bleached out story. At least it would actually be somewhat more real. The only non-bleached thing about the story is the taboo. Why do we make everything taboo in gay stories for it to be good or "mATuRe". There are so many other interesting plot devices and bls never do taboo plots like this justice because it always needs to result in a happy ending and the couple getting together.

I just want some good representation. The HIStory series has just constantly been taboo after taboo and included a lot of problematic stuff that is romanticised or glossed over. They have pulled the step brother plot three times now. It's old.

Also people's concerns about age gap is definitely valid. I also hated the fact that the relationship was between teacher student even more though. I don't think we should be ignoring a college age student dating someone who has probably already paid 1/3 of his mortgage off. I think there are a lot of issues there that again aren't addressed well.

I love flawed characters and I'm sure others do, but BLs never give the right character development or consequences to their actions. In other media I love a flawed character but there are hardly any that I've liked in BL. Additionally, a significant number of viewers often ignore the flaws of these characters in the discussion and just gush over the sexual scenes.

No worries and sorry I often forget that colloquial terms don't carry well everywhere. But yeah the term "go off" is usually used to hype someone up. (I agree with you/I love what you're doing) depending on context.

Speaking 100% facts!! This show is unfortunately ruining a lot of pairings I was super excited to see :(

I wished these couples were more established before they did a fan service style show. Most of these pairing didn't have a finished storyline in the shows they appeared in previously. This show hasn't helped elevate the pairings for me because everything has felt non-genuine, forced and honestly with these plots - uninteresting.

Thank you!! I am so happy people are being truthful about this show. It's been so frustrating to see people praise shows while ignore glaring issues with them because all they care about is two guys being sexual with each other.

I agree, it's been an interesting experience with this show. I appreciate all the actors and production crew who have worked hard to give us this content. I do wish they had made some changes to make it a more interesting show. However, it's shows like this that we get to see different storylines and love plots and there is definitely a lot of talent a part of the show. Hopefully we get to see in the future in more shows.

Also, hopefully we see some more feminine gays in BLs in the future but with an actual story, but I guess we'll have to see.

I agree with some of your review, I wish some elements had been cleaned up. However, some of the questions you are curious about I don't really think are important to the story. My favourite thing about this show was how they unveiled the characters to us. I made assumptions about the two of them, one being cold, the other being a playboy but the layers were peeled and we got to see them as down to earth people. But definitely I would love to know what caused Seo Jun's trauma and I'm still confused about everything to do with Hyung Ki and the ending.
