everyone is complaining about her hair but i didn't notice it at all . i found her hairstyle so cute and suits…
I noticed it because compared to her hair in other dramas it looks like a wig. I don't think it was that bad though, but I'm a guy. My mom said it was awful, lol.
For some reason, this drama feels like those mangas that have been coming out lately where someone gets reincarnated into another world that is based on a romance novel or game and the person is one of the side characters and we catch glimpses every now and then of the main story characters which would be the CEO's sister and her two exes.
I personally didn't think it was, but I'm old enough to know what actual racism is and not what people "call"…
I do understand where you are coming from. I cringe a bit every time I see an American portrayed in one of these dramas, not matter what the color. You would like to think in this day and age they would know more but really it comes down to how much actual interaction the writer has had with the subject. This particular drama is based on a webtoon so it's whatever the artist wrote. I know they trimmed down quite a lot of this story to make it presentable on TV. In this case I don't think they were trying to make the Rasta's seem dirty because there have been quite a few popular Korean hip hop/reggea artists in the past that did not look like this. I'm sure the character is supposed to be sorta unkempt and dirty because he is a poor webtoon artist. Sorta like how the Japanese will portray manga artists sometimes as workaholic shut-ins that rarely sleep and only come out for food and bathroom breaks when they are trying to meet a deadline. The guy being Rasta is his lifestyle cause he likes it, being dirty is because he spends all day closed up working on his webtoon. There are even scenes where his editor keeps calling wanting to know why he's not uploading. Thats one of the reasons to me it seemed more comic relief and not racist because I've seen that sort of thing lots of times. If you take out the fact that he's Rasta, he would still be dirty and unkempt because thats the comedic trope that goes with struggling webtoon artist. As far as the job I had it was really cool and I enjoyed it a lot. The best way to describe what I did is to say that every time you make a cellphone call or search stuff on your smartphone, I worked on all the equipment and software that makes that possible. The company I worked for was Canadian and they were the largest telecommunications equipment manufacturer for over 100yrs. Even today, about 60-70% of the worlds phone calls go through their equipment even though they were sold off in chunks 10yrs ago. I did some consulting work for a few countries a few times after but now I consider myself retired.

So then I as a white person have the right to be offended because Eddie Murphy has played white and jewish characters in some of his movies and the Wayans brothers played white girls in one of their movies. I could go on and list others. But I choose to see it for what it really is, satirical characters in comedy movies with no racial intent whatsoever. Which is how I also see the character in this show, a Korean guy who wants to be Rasta. And that was actually a real thing back in the 90's on college campuses all over the world. It wasn't racially motivated, people liked the lifestyle and thought it was cool. I also don't expect Korean TV shows to understand and correctly portray things that they don't know. Because they don't have the same history that we do. I was lucky enough to work for a large international company for many, many years. I worked with people in lots of countries. And there are lots of things that they do that would look bad to us, but its normal for them. You have to remember that American culture is mostly appropriated from everywhere else. We are one of the youngest countries in the world and we are a melting pot of races from much older cultures. No other country has as diverse a population as ours. So its hard to expect another culture that is mostly vanilla with sprinkles, if I can use that term, to know what its like to be rocky road.
they make it that way because it's 53 episodes this is pretty standard for weekend dramas the pace is really slow
while it is true that there are several drama "tropes" that you see in a lot of shows, they are not all like that, I think you start to learn to pick what you like the more you watch, I started watching these dramas 13yrs ago, I think I'm somewhere around 600 shows now, over that period of time I've learned which actors to look for cause I know they will give great performances as well as which screenwriters to look for, there also times where I see certain supporting actors and watch the drama, I would say that most of mine are what you call the weeknight shows (16-20 eps), but I've enjoyed probably 20-30 weekenders and even some of the daily dramas (100-150 eps), in the end its whatever you enjoy, but I would say there many well written dramas of the other types as well
I'm currently watching "Golden Pouch" and I originally thought she was beautiful and a good actress, but her scandal…
The sisters acknowledged their part in it, apologized, and moved on with their lives. I personally don't think we have ever, or will ever, know the whole truth. So as long as the sisters act well and put out good work, I'll continue to watch without any thoughts about the past at all.
Pretty sure this is not all because they also have multi year license agreements with jTBC and tvN so there will probably be some other shows added along the way.
I almost gave up on this drama until it started to find it's feet. Arthur Chen, I thought, was better in this…
Yeah, Chu Min was one of my favorites right from the start as well. Su Tang was also a great character, doesn't think too much, just barrels straight ahead.
Very sadly, but she almost have not enough fans on kisskh. at 600+ Hearts... the rest of the actresses on…
Probably because most of Lee Yoo Ri's body of work are the daily dramas and weekend dramas. And a lot of people just don't like to watch dramas with that many episodes. I noticed that everyone on the list has very few if any of those types of dramas.
I like how the set design team worked in the traditional wine gourd into every single thing related to the old drunken master. Doors, windows, fountains, its everywhere.
I didn't know it when I first watched this many many years ago, but after this the actresses playing the mothers go on to play some pretty evil in laws in different dramas. Especially Choon Hyangs mom, her role as Lee Yoo Ri's mother in law in Daring Women is still one of the most vile and evil I've seen.
