He is doing it for YX, but as she develops it will be for DD.

It's basically the journey of ordinary Dengdeng to find how she fits in with her goddess Yun Xi and Lu Yan's struggle to find out, to fit in and come to terms with his relationship with Yun Xi, who is now Dengdeng. Worth watching, for me. I love the FL.

Skip over to ep. 7 from 18:43 the next two scenes (especially the snowy scene) and especially beginning part of ep. 8. Mebbe this will help you to continue watching.

He is supposed to be stoic like a lot of cdrama ML dominants. The internal struggle as he seeks to define his role with Dengdeng, who is also finding her Yun Xi along with Dengdeng's natural charisma keeps me watching.

Watch ep. 8 may be enough to start again.

I think that he will show up near the end as a biggish reveal. There will be often be hints of him. I think that he will only battle one time at the end. That's why he is a guest.

You should look up Autumn Moon. She is pretty insightful in analyzing shows. Basically the video is one long written review presented in chunks. Since I have to read subtitles in any Asian drama anyway, it's no biggy. But the text comes out pretty slowly. No answer about the actress from the last video by AvenueX. Upon thinking about it, the actress may have fallen out of favor for any number of reasons. That's why no one will comment about it. Hope the best for her. I think that that actress has played a number of best friends. If I see her again, I'll post that info here. Take care.

She has charisma so that you want to bask in her sunshine. I knew a housewife like that.

I take joy with Dengdeng's journey to reclaim her Yun Xi and Lu Yan's struggle to seek how he fits in with Dengdeng. The loyal side kicks are endearing and I love how Dengdeng as a leader rewards loyalty from her gang with caring and kindness. She puts the people living in her stronghold/community ahead of her self interest. She asked Lu Yan to stay and help her people after he kills her. It's in contrast with Lu Yan's handling of his two helpers. I'm glad that Gu will have someone who loves him.

Perhaps skip to ep. 8 and then go back to where you left off. Lu Yan is in many ways the dream catch for Dengdeng and it's really her story/journey that makes this watchable. It may not seem like there is much growth in her character, but ep. 18 will start to merge her character with Yun Xi and there will be a tough fight ahead where courage, devotion and sacrifice will become evident and necessary, I believe.

The FL has charisma so I like stuff with her. The ML is supposed to be stoic with some very nuanced show of emotion. In ep. 14, 16:15, when Dengdeng questions that she is Yun Xi, the tear rolling from his left eye is barely noticeable. There is much pain there. There are some pretty emotional moments that make me watch this before other shows that become available at the same time. The dream sequence where she goes back to see her Mother, the betrayal with her frozen in the air. Mebbe I'm the target audience, but will re-watch this after it ends, even if it has a crappy ending. Don't think it will. Just my two cents. Thank you.

She is listed as Black Maiden. She committed suicide when Lu Yan captured her in ep. 16. 10:27. Actress is Cao Xi Yue.

Yes, I saw that after posting. But the scene of her seeing her Mother in the dream and the presence of the mask made me hopeful.

I think it will become more clear after this episode.

Before starting ep. 15. I thought that Dengdeng is conflicted whether Lu Yan/General Yan is now doing everything for Yun Xi or for her. And whether she is really Dengdeng or Yun Xi. That is eating away at her and her attraction for Lu Yan. He is showing many of the qualities of a strong, considerate faithful and obedient soul mate that she would dream of.

I wonder if the masked assistant of the evil Zhu Rong will turn out to be Dengdeng's Mother? They were kind of ambiguous about her clearly dying.
