It's the first time since he fought with his Father over his first love that he cries. The FL always intended to return to him.

The writers have her breaking with him to cut thru the scar tissue protecting his heart. That is why he comes off as cold, standoffish. He realizes that he misses her and for the first time after he broke up with his first love, we see him cry.

The ML has a past love who was partially responsible for crippling him emotionally. She and the FL start to have a working relationship. But no he never looks back. Happy ending for the three couples.

Not all real agents are Bond types, even if field agents. Park Mi Jeong is more comfortable behind a computer and Ko Yeong Hun looks more like a gofer. But they are there to provide comedic relief. imho.
