I'm a bit confused about Pei Shenzi is really a enuch (castrated) or not.... Coz in ep 7-8 how he was imagining…
True. But upon refection, I'm thinking about ep. 3 when Pei was intending to watch her bathe and the talk veered to 'unspeakable secrets.' He intended it to be about her, but she flipped it to be about him. She remarked that she noticed that he was much stronger than other eunuchs and then tried to touch his Adam's apple. I already knew that he wasn't castrated, but later thought that that scene was a hint to us. That was what I was thinking of when I made my comment.
are there any other mini dramas that are as good as this in plot and acting? can someone recommend pls? doesn't…
The Blessed Bride (2022) with Amy Sun was a comedy. The comedy comes from the silly parts. It came out the same time as A Familiar Stranger and I enjoyed both equally. Don't pay attention to the low 7.0 MDL score. Some have complained about the ending, but pay attention at 3:01 as the FL rides in the carriage with her maid in the final episode to understand switch.
I have seen similar ending for other dramas where they always meet the person from their timeline at the end,…
I guess the downer for me is that he and his friends were all executed in the past. He did meet her doppelganger in the past but she served to pass down that handkerchief to the present.
Ep. 7. 13:21 Han-deul is giving the "I'm interested," vibes. With her eyes and the swaying of her face side to side. She is several streets ahead of Gi-jun who is kinda clueless.
If they intend to wrap up both timelines, ep. 9 should have seen the resolution of the present day trouble and ep. 10 should be about deciding on going back to face certain death. I'd hate if the ending has him about to return to the past.
Seems to be pointing that way. His being absorbed by the Eight-Feet Spirit so that he will have no future interaction with the Yeo Ri points to the dragon being the end game. Plus the imugi has express interest in her beyond using her body to ascend.
Don't be fooled by the rating, it's completely incomprehensible, it's an excellent drama.
Yes, very enjoyable. But the director and screenwriter didn't set up the romance part well and didn't execute it well. Bits and pieces were done well, but were not connected well enough. The ML was not only introduced as a blustery entitled person but he was saddled with being the comedic element. His good points were made obvious too little and too late. They also made Muzhi too attractive compared with Menglin and many viewers were unhappy.
Now, about the ending... is kinda happy, but to me was more in the bittersweet group, so I leave it for your consideration.
He knows that they had a history that he can only know by reading her letters and that even those memories won't carry over to the next day. But she has love enough to fill both of their hearts. And she brought him back from non existence.
I don’t know which ep is it but do know who really killed the FL with a sword and then someone shoot an arrow…
It is ep. 6. The ML's bodyguard had a shapeshifting ability. So he looked like the ML. He is the one who killed her family again and fought and stabbed with his sword. It is assumed there are agents (perhaps the lady musician/ninja that loves the Crown Prince) that insure that the FL and or the ML are killed. By arrow, such as how the ML was killed over the FL's body in Ep.1 The bodyguard tried to kill the FL in ep. 8 but was knocked out by the ML. He is recognized as the fake ML in ep. 6 by the three dots on the back of his neck. He betrayed his master to save his sister. The sister, not identified as such, was the dancer that saved the FL in eo.4 at the Flower Pavilion. She has the red mark (a plum blossom mark) on her shoulder. They also show her glancing around whereas the other dancers don't. In ep. 5, when they are leading manacled Sun Cheng away, they linger on the sister's dead body on the floor. When they had her looking around and lingering on her dead body, I wondered who she was.The connection is made in ep. 10 where the bodyguard. says that his sister has a plum blossom mark on her left shoulder. Her name is Xueji. In that episode, the FL goes to the Flower Pavilion, ask if the girl is Xuenji and if she has a brother and takes her to see him in prison. Xueji is later seen in ep. 19 when the FL meets her in the Flower Pavilion/restaurant. She is now an owner of a teahouse.
The strong FL shown when she first met the wounded general and shushed him and commanded him with her eyes should have been continued for the rest of the drama, Not become a doormat. She shouldn't have needed to be saved but sometimes supported. The nanny should have been kept by her side. The bandit should have had a different trajectory. Loyal friend to the FL, not seeking to poach a wife. Perhaps a hate/love duel with the 2FL.
I'd hate if the ending has him about to return to the past.
Willing to go beyond death for the other. check
Willing to trust in the other's love. check
