I don’t think EH is stupid. She is just not a cold-hearted person. She thinks her mother truly lost her when she was young, she doesn’t know yet that she was actually abandoned. So she reacts from innocence, not stupidity. She has a good heart, not because she’s dumb.
And also — JH knows about the liver thing. He loves her deeply and he senses something is wrong. He knows that the mother only came back to EH because she wants a liver for her son not because she loves her or truly missed her. JiHyeok will stop her. He will never let her go through something that will risk her life.

My cousin and her husband have a ten year age gap, and they’ve been happily married for 20 years. There is absolutely nothing wrong with an eight year age gap either. It all comes down to mutual respect, understanding, and age is just one small part of the bigger picture.
