I always wondered what their issue with him was. Like you said, they were, and still are, against him acting with ZYL. But I just remembered that someone in the film industry praised Tan Jianci’s performance in Deafening, saying it surpassed that of some award-winning actors. Maybe that’s why they feel threatened and worry he might overshadow ZYL
I pray for better days to come for him.

I watched MerryCheng Live yesterday, and compared to how excited he was on New Year’s Eve, Tan Jianci looked exhausted. His flu seemed worse, his eyes were watery, and it felt like he was forcing himself to get through it. In just one week, his condition completely changed. I don’t think it’s only because of illness, but also because of that rumor, followed by statements from ZYL c-fans calling for his replacement in Empty Gun. It felt like he was on the verge of tears every time he spoke. He has gone through a lot and really needs a break.
I really pity celebrities; they’re judged over the smallest, most insignificant things, and often can’t even speak up for themselves. I truly hope everything settles down before his next filming starts.
