I know everyone is complaining about the stupid plot points in ep 11/12 - but for the kisses alone, I give this drama a 9.5/10

Tropey as hell but I loved every second of this drama

So I pushed through to ep18, and I'm very confused by the good reviews here. Both the ML and FL are super problematic. They're mean to everyone plus each other. They don't have an ounce of logic. I am confused by their reaction to situations .
For example:
ML finds out FL is a different person and procedes to abuse her physically + emotionally. It's 2023. Let's move on from these storylines - it's not romantic. And his version of an 'apology' is not an apology at all.

OR

FL thinks HBY is her ride back to her world. But surely, when he tells you suicide is the answer, anyone with a brain would think twice about it? But no, after getting saved, she goes on to yell at everyone, hurting the people around her. This is not the character growth I was promised.

I don't know, I wanted to like this drama. I usually have a fairly high tolerance for trashy dramas, but this is not one of them. Dropped.

Made it to ep 11 and had to drop this. I get things are different in China, but this is not it. This drama is ridiculous. I cannot believe they tried to excuse Sun Meng's parent's actions. Yes, the young firefighters should not have made a video, but to say they are causing 'secondary harm' to parents who have zero remorse for killing their own child, it's too far. Officially dropped.

An easy 10/10 drama for me. I didn't expect to cry so much in the last few episodes, but both Zhao Lu Si and Chen Zhe Yuan brought so much emotional depth to their characters that I felt every emotion they expressed in the final episodes. I've never regretted starting a drama before it completed broadcasting as much as I have with this drama.

I always come back to this drama when in need of some comfort, like a warm fuzzy blanket or chicken soup when you're feeling unwell. It's not a perfect drama but it has a very special place in my heart

Not being centred around sex is one of my favourite aspects of this movie. There were definitely some scenes I found a bit bizarre (woof woof), but I enjoyed having my eyes opened to a world I have very little understanding of. Once they introduced us to the world of BDSM, the second half of the movie had some very powerful emotional beats. Behind the theme of a Dom/sub relationship, this is really a story about two people coming to accept themselves and finding love in the process.

As a Seohyun fan, I've watched her since SNSD days and found it really difficult to not see all the Seohyun mannerisms in her previous dramas. I always saw her more than the characters she's playing. However, in this film, I completely forgot I was watching Seohyun and was fully engaged with the character Jung Ji Woo. This is definitely her best performance to date and I'm looking forward to her work this year.

I've never watched Lee Jun Young before but I'm definitely going to check out his filmography after this.

100% entertaining watch. If you're looking for nudity, go watch 50 shades of grey because this is definitely not it. This is a romantic comedy touching on a topic that is rarely explored without people getting naked.

Hope you didnt rate lower than the average MDL or Douban rating...lolI think it was alright maybe a bit flat at…
It's definitely not the worst Chinese drama ending I've watched. I think the drama was so good for 13-14 eps that the ending felt like a let down. I gave it a 8/10 rating.

Up until the last episode, this would have got a 10/10 for me. Unfortunately, the drama didn't stick the landing. Everything was packaged perfectly with a big bow on top, but so many things were left unexplained. I was pretty frustrated watching the last episode and found the ending very anti-climactic.

I know what you mean. I thought about it and I would still watch his works if it's a drama or movie I'm interested…
I agree that he hasn't committed a serious crime, if he had, there would be no question of whether I can watch his work. I also agree he's a talented actor, his personal life doesn't change that. All I can say is I feel disappointed, and I think it's valid for me to feel that way.
On Kim Seon Ho Oct 21, 2021
Person Kim Seon Ho
Part of the Kim Seon Ho package was believing in the image he had portrayed to the public. Trust has been built over time in his character, in his integrity, in his goodness. That image has been completely shattered due to what was revealed by his ex-girlfriend. While what he did is not the worst when compared to some other scandals, he is yet another example of how backwards Korean society is. They lack sex education and whatever sex education they do have is misogynistic. Abortion is never an easy decision, and if his ex-gf felt coerced in any (underline 'any' 3 times) way, this is not okay.

People do make mistakes, and I do sense that he also has a side to this story. The ex-gf may not be as blameless as the original post claims (I say this because she did take down the post after the damage was done, claiming there were misunderstandings). Yet, I am still disappointed because I genuinely liked KSH, long before his fame blew up through Start Up. 1N2D is seriously cursed in their casting and I'm not sure they will survive this blow (though they have proven me wrong before). I'm certain he will crawl out from reflection in 6 months. While I don't think his career is completely over, it will be difficult to revive the level of stardom he has experienced in the past year. I haven't decided if I will be able to continue watching his work, but I know for certain I won't be able to watch him with the same affection and joy.

Tried pushing through this drama, got to episode 8 and had to drop it. I started watching the first episode and gave up halfway through the second ep, left the drama, watched "Our Secret' and really enjoyed Chen Zhe Yuan's acting in it. I decided to come back to this drama hoping that he was enough to pull me through it. Spoiler alert: he wasn't.

The FL annoyed me to no end. The Emperor annoyed me to no end. Jun Qing was only slightly less annoying than the two. The writing was lazy, the schemes were not clever and I was left with an incredibly boring storyline that had me rolling my eyes 80% of the time. I don't know if it gets better as the story continues, but I disliked the FL too much to continue.

What this drama really aced at was in its characters and acting. From the protagonists to the antagonists to the supporting characters, I was thoroughly invested in every character. The downfall of this drama is in its editing and pacing. I was disappointed that the editing really affected the drama for me, especially in the latter half.

Ah well, I will remember this drama with fond memories. I don't usually go for sad endings but I felt the bittersweet ending was perfect for the drama. The one thing I wish could have changed was that Yan Zhi could have lived happily with her Ruo Yu and Yan Xiu. I also wish he didn't just disappear after Yan Zhi passed and they showed him fulfilling his promise to her, protecting Ruo Yu on her behalf.

I can't wait for Cheng Yi and Zhang Yu Xi's modern drama and hopefully, they'll get a happy ending there instead!

Ren Jia Lun and Bai Lu, the entire cast absolutely slayed this drama. Bai Lu's acting talent truly came through when she sobbed silently after finding out Zhou Sheng Chen's death. I always thought she had some great acting skills in her but was never proven right until this moment. And of course, Ren Jia Lun excels in every historical drama he is cast in.

Can I also just say how glad I am to finally watch a drama where I don't hate Ethan Yao's character? He did phenomenal here as well.

Everything from acting to production, cinematography to music was top notch. I'm hoping that the directing and production is equally amazing when the second part comes out!

Re: Episodes 27 and 28. Terrific gambit that puts adversaries in an awkward position and on the back foot. A great…
100%. Qi Yan said it best when he said that the only person in the world who believes in him is Cheng Ruo Yu. While she isn't as clever and strategic as Yan Zhi, she is the only one who has the courage driven by her unwavering loyalty to fulfil the task at hand.

A talented soldier with impressive martial arts skill is not hard to find for people like Qi Yan and Yan Zhi. But for both who have been walking a political tightrope their entire life, discovering someone who is loyal, without greed and actions that are driven by kindness is incredibly rare. It's why they both, especially Qi Yan, rely on her despite knowing all her flaws

Years of watching Chicago Fire made the incompetency of the entire fire and medical team in the first episode…
Haha it was so many things! It was the way a supposedly experienced firefighter pulled a victim out and left him sitting upright in a tunnel without firstly inspecting what the situation was. Where is the smoke coming from? Is the car about the blow? Did this man potentially injure his spine?

Then the team arrives and it's like....no one's going to put out the fire? Everyone's focused on rescuing people but...where's the team that focuses on putting out the actual fire? How long do you have to rescue people? What is the situation that you're entering into?

I got so frustrated I started shouting at the screen. And then they rescue the pregnant lady (let's not enough talk about that entire process), and they just lay her on the ground IN THE TUNNEL, where they haven't fully accessed the situation yet, and wow, they even have time to deliver her handbag and mobile? Like....what the heck??

Within the first 16 mins I knew there was no way I could finish this drama . Yet, I pushed through because...Gong Jun. Then I got to ep 4, and the final straw for me was when the FL broke out of her training group to get some medicine, without telling her team leader. She gets there, and then finds out the lady's husband is missing, and decides to go on a rescue mission ON HER OWN, without telling her team! This is someone with zero experience in the mountains. How stupid can this get? I quit after that. I've watched a lot of stupid dramas and my ability to ignore reality is pretty damn high. But this was too much stupidity and incompetency even for me.

I am loving this drama so much for three reasons - the chemistry between Xu Kai and Chen Xiao, the writing and the never-ending adorableness from the fluffballs. Seeing how this is written by the same writer of Moonlight which I also enjoyed thoroughly, I have become a fan of her style of writing.

I would be really interested in watching another drama with Xu Kai and Chen Xiao, perhaps in a couple of years when they've both matured more as actors (especially Chen Xiao). Whilst I'm enjoying this drama a lot, this is a fairly fluffy drama that doesn't really require a lot from them as actors. I would love to see them in something with a bit more substance and see how their chemistry works in a different environment. This is by no means a criticism, it's actually how much I'm enjoying them that I want to see them in something else.

Lastly, I propose more dramas be pet friendly. It makes a drama so much more enjoyable, seeing adorable cats on my screen every episode.

Now to wait for next Thursday for all the eps to drop...
