I rewatched the last two eps bc i wasn’t able to watch some parts of the eps , but damn I felt so bad for Matthew. I know I mentioned down below that he was over edited but the situation he got placed in was pretty sad.. just a few hours before training too. You can tell they all reconciled quickly after and their team chemistry was way better than before, so it’s honestly upsetting to see Matthew antis constantly hating on him and spreading misinformation and rumours about him :/

just read your comment after I posted mine and we have similar thoughts. it’s really a popularity vote , I hope it changes. I started this show for Santa but some other contestants like Sungmin, Shiryu and Hikaru caught my eye so I decided to continue. I’m not voting because they’ve barely shown all of the contestants skills. I know the training and practice is probably all good but they edited everything out. How frustrating
IMO: This show is pretty messy, from how they spoke towards Myung Jae with asthma to the whole Gyu Rae situation. It’s fair enough that he dropped to Group 2, but the way they went on about it is just not it. And the voting system is weird, why did they let us vote before the show started even though we don’t know their skills? Plus the whole one room dorm thing… bffr. It just makes it more awkward.
Wish they showed how they gave out the lines and the center role, because it would allow viewers to truly see how they earned it (like they showed judges doubting Junwon and then in the performance, he was center) I WANNA SEE!! He did amazing as a center tho btw.
I love Yaya, but y’all gotta stop overhyping him. He did not deserve his spot and so many others with better skills could’ve had that (*AHEM* hikaru) but also this was probably the votes from before the show aired too, and they didn’t show his performance in EP1 so it’s alright for now….
Santa has potential, with more training, he can debut. He has pretty vocals and okay dancing. And I’m glad someone saw him practicing late at night and telling others that. #1 was surprising but also not that surprising. I thought Junwon would get it ngl because he’s really good, and absolutely slayed centre
Anyways, I hope they have team chemistry because I really ain’t seeing that from what’s been shown:( Its a hard watch but can get through it
i dont know what are MNET's intention of editing Matthew over and over again, whether in a bad or a good way. Don't get me wrong, he is one of my picks.. it's just TOO suspicious but all we can do is wonder. he's gaining more antis by day as well, AND matthew ended up accepting everything and being more grateful towards the team, which they could've just edited in one segment instead. theres probably other teams that face similar problems YET he was so over edited.
+ how does jay legit carried his team vocally but was barely shown, even to the point where he was cut out of the frame during his highnotes and adlibs, and WE ALL KNOW he is one of the best vocals amongst everyone but they didn't even show him in the recording studio... LOLL. zhanghao deserved #1, but jay definitely did not deserve such a low score and minimum screentime
As a series itself, it’s okay. Around 7.5/10, but since reading the manhwa before watching made me understand their thought process and what emotions they were truly feeling, it made my watching experience better. And the series barely went through Taehyun’s mental health struggle and the thought process on the things he did.
I’m not going to complain about the last two episodes and how “rushed” it felt, since that was how it went in the manhwa, according to my memory. I didn’t feel a lot of their chemistry in their epilogue, but I did feel it in the first 6 episodes.

finished it 9/10! has so much potential to be a longer series or season 2, but I’m happy with the way it ended even if some questions were left unanswered. they’re all so good looking and their chemistry is great!

I did not realise Fuse (MIR) and Kung (MO12) was the same person. Makes sense since it’s been 6 years since I’ve seen him. Kept staring at him as Kung because he is handsome as hell.
Lot to say about this, but in short, it is a very solid series, and I would recommend but don’t have high expectations if you’re not into slow burns. The fluff in almost every episode makes up for it. Was a 10/10 until the drunken confession, it wasn’t bad but I wish Cake confessed his feelings in another way, after all that build up.
In highschool, it’s hard to distinguish if Cake loved him A LOT platonically or if he really had undiscovered feelings for him back then, I would like to think both but more of the latter.. I personally preferred the first half but the time skip was still really good.
+ Santa is FINEEE asf.. his acting is one of my favs, plus Earth’s cries always makes me tear up or cry. Someone update their pfp, pls it ain’t doing them justice lolol
