thank you to my fall break for lining up exactly when this premiers lol i'm hoping for enemies to lovers and friends to lovers combined in the best way
Well I think the writer of this show has a shitty relationship with his brother. Just a theory.
I have plenty more to say about this show but it definitely felt like the "resolution" was just a long-winded lead up to a season 2, and I will be disappointed if there never is one. I have so many unanswered questions. I liked the show and it made me cry and yell at my tv, it just had some mediocre writing at times, especially in characterization.
This show has incredibly complex characters and I never rooted for the same person at any point. I really like the direction they took with this show. I put off watching the last episode because I knew it was going to end terribly for everyone involved and boy did I underestimate just how bad it could go. Due to the nature of the show, it was open-ended for literally every storyline, but that's reality. This show throws you around and then slaps you across the face but it's impossible to stop watching.
This was a really well-done short film- strongberry keeps getting better with every production I watch. The acting was surprisingly good, and the dialogue was excellent. I found it realistic, people never say what they mean, but the meaning behind the dialogue is so clear to the audience. And when he eventually says what he really wants to say, his tone of voice changes entirely. I just. Film major brain go brr
I'm rewatching the first episode and I'm noticing so many random details that carry through the entire season. Like hatbit and taekyung both being picky eaters was established here and they mentioned it in the last episode too?? That's such an obscure detail to bring back but this writing was so well planned.
a minute into episode 16 and i'm simultaneously elated and also crying because daon HELP I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPENanyways…
this is my comfort series now i don't make the rules and yes i will rewatch the entire thing all at once to see all the things i missed as soon as i have the time
a minute into episode 16 and i'm simultaneously elated and also crying because daon HELP I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN
anyways i can't believe this show is over :( i'm going to miss looking forward to it every tuesday and thursday. i'm so happy with this episode, we got namgoong and sohee staying friends (thank goodness, it suits them more), daon saying no!! and I WAS NOT EXPECTING A KISS IN THIS SERIES. i have lots of thoughts but my brain is just mushy from all that fluff. also the hatbit easter egg?? very neat. there were a couple things i wished they rounded out a bit more but overall i am very happy with the trajectory of the story.
also whoever decided to add bloopers at the end, that's my favorite thing ever and i am in love with u.
thank you to everyone here for going on this journey all at once, i know i had a wonderful time! i've never been this active in a comment section of a drama, but i needed to talk about this one.
this drama really said you have no idea what's going to happen omg i haven't watched episode 15 yet but these…
update i watched the episode and i am just as confused as poor taekyung but i am eagerly awaiting the final(!!) episode. at this point i think the only option is to choose both of them. no sadness for anyone! because I'm going to be heartbroken for whoever doesn't get chosen no matter what. good job show, but please no more sadness. on the bright side i love namgoong and his flower booth. what a cutie.
i was feeling pretty neutral about taekyung in general but the more we get to know him the more i like his character. it seems like he’s not a consistent character, but he is. he always says exactly what he’s thinking, which i think is an admirable trait. he also responds to people who treat him well, hence why he liked daon and retracted once daon began pulling away, and is why he is beginning to like shinwoo. he’s a fascinating character to observe.
while i still dislike sohee, i am glad that she decided to apologize on her own time, and has actually been listening to namgoong despite her actions so far. she echoed some of the exact things he said to her- like “daon doesn’t belong to me”. taehyung forgave her a bit more easily than i would’ve forgiven her, but we as viewers have gotten to know her than taekyung has, so it’s not that far-fetched. daon had a great response to her apology, it’s probably how i would respond to an apology like that. she seems sincere so i’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. she’s one of these confused teens, after all.
i find it funny how shinwoo is so confident about his feelings until he actually has to interact with taekyung in a normal setting. he’s clearly never been in this situation before and it’s entertaining to see him fumble around. he’s a very lovable character.
the “are you broken?” scene was so adorable, give me more of those wholesome moments please! i love seeing taekyung so comfortable around shinwoo.
namgoong is such a good friend, he always sticks himself to those who are struggling the most and gives them excellent advice. he’s the best.
i can’t believe there’s only two episodes left. i’m excited but i’m going to miss this show a lot.
what an episode! the compilation of all the times shinwoo was texting taekyung,, that was lovely. shinwoo is really just doing his best. and that last scene Oh Boy he really just went for it.
thank you to the karaoke scene for giving us go woojin (shiwoon) singing his heart out, i was hoping he would get to sing at some point in this series.
despite how much i despise sohee, her character is very consistent and human. she realizes that she's done a bad thing but she still did it and has to deal with the consequences. shiwoon please stop being so nice to her i know you are a good person and you want to comfort her but please let her be miserable for a while
i haven't been this excited to watch new episodes of a series since 2018. all the actors are excellent and the story keeps exceeding my expectations. this is far more than just a feel-good romance story. it has substance and deals with friendship, coming out, and growing up in general. i love it
oh boy this episode was a big turning point for this series i can tell things are going to get even more dramatic right up until the end.
first, shinwoo best boy. he's very emotionally mature and so selfless. he's excellent at communicating and like he said, he knows his place. plus he came out to taekyung?? hello?? and the keychain is finally in play! we love analogies
second, daon. my boy. he's finally having some positive self-development but now he keeps getting rejected, be it by taekyung or sohee. please someone help him. that happy ending that i know is in the cards for him will be so so sweet. but i'm in pain because of this episode.
overall this episode was probably my favorite so far, all the plotlines are moving into their endgames and the anticipation is boiling up in me, which must mean this show is doing something right.
Love your comments. Feel much the same. I really think the plot may show us Daon locking himself solidly back…
i hadn't realized that we have yet to see daon's parents on screen yet until you mentioned it! i feel like there's a big storm coming there but i am really hoping daon will get to stand up to them even if it's just in a small way. that would be a nice way to close his arc
professor hatbit telling daon that he doesn't have to be okay all the time tugged at my heartstrings i think he needed to hear that. unless sohee has some major character development i really don't want her and namgoong together even though it sort of seems like that's where this is going. i love him though he's the kind of friend everyone needs since he'll defend you even when you aren't around.
taekyung basically scolding daon hurt, but he does have a point. daon may be going through a lot but he's constantly hiding from it all. i'm looking forward to daon becoming a person who can confidently stand up for himself. i think that's his arc, and it's why he has to have feelings for taekyung before he can complete his arc.
idk why people are worried about shinwoo and taekyung having no development because they definitely have had steady development and we still have 5 episodes (thats a whole 2+ hours of runtime) for everything to come together in the end. i for one am here to enjoy the ride. this show has exceeded my expectations in every way so far!
I detest people like Daon. Every breath he takes is a lie. His thank yous to TK for that bracelet were a lie;…
he's a confused kid. as someone who was once a confused kid and is still working it out as an adult, i don't think it is fair at all to 'detest' daon, as you say. he's not fake or a liar, he's just struggling with himself and wants to be perceived as a normal kid. he's not ready to come out, let alone to be in a relationship. he's so hyperaware of his confusion that he is unintentionally hurting people, which of course can be frustrating but is not a good reason to hate him as a viewer.
i want to give daon the biggest hug he's struggling so hard and not telling anyone about it :( if sohee was a real person i would've slapped her by now jfc props to the actress for doing an excellent job.
