I personally thought it was cheating but not for the reasons that Jin Mu seemed to be bringing up.
When it rains it rains for both the duelers, not for one. Rain is not a person and it does not discriminate between the duelers. Rain would provide equal opportunities to the dueler should they chose to use it. What happened is different where a person (not an inanimate object like rain) who fully knew and understood the rules of the game provided a physical assist to one (not both, but just one) of the duelers. That is cheating. So your rain analogy is not quite justified in my opinion. But I think I've made my point and let's just move on.

I don't know. I am glad how it ended for the ML, but do ends justify the means? Sorry I'm not trying to be difficult, I do love both Jang Uk and Mu Deokie, I really do, but hey gotta be objective and call a spade a spade. Nothing wrong with that. It's called tough love. LOL.

If the crown prince could manifest water to help his sword then that would be through his own abilities without external assist. What happened was a physical assist from a external third party. Textbook definition of cheating when the rules of the game could not be clearer.

Jang Uk gets a major physical assist from Mu Deokie where she hurls a drop of blood toward him which he uses to perform Tansu. I thought the rules of the duel were very clear. No one is to assist the duelers even if they are to die. This was black and white cheating in my honest opinion.
