But isn't process of conception pure biology? Even if we go by the concept of body and soul where body is perishable and soul cannot be destroyed, it's still Jang Kang's body and DNA is all biology and has nothing to do with soul. So I am also struggling a little bit to fully grasp this and get on board.

No it is not a glitch. All the Top 3 most commented dramas on MDLs are BL - KinnPorsche, Immortality and Bad Buddy. Immortality is a Chinese BL adaptation and hasn't actually even aired yet and still it is the 2nd most commented drama on MDL. BL dramas are extremely popular amongst the masses.
