I don't typically watch political dramas, but I decided to give this a go for Ji Chang Wook... I feel like…
I feel like they attempted doing a decent job on the development of characters, but failed. That's just my opinion. I feel next to nothing for any of them and the "romance" is pretty much laughable. The fact that Je Ha feel anything for Anna is just weird. It's more like his feelings for Rainya trickled over to her because he has a knight in shining armor
complex, not for actual reasons. *shrugs* That's just how I'm feeling about this. I'm sure that other people have much different views.
I don't typically watch political dramas, but I decided to give this a go for Ji Chang Wook... I feel like the writers dropped a big ball with the character development. I feel next to nothing for any of the characters and find myself laughing at parts where I'm pretty sure they were going for a serious feel. The actors are doing a great job. It's the script that sucks. I'm probably gonna finish this show for the sake of Wookie, but I'm not happy about it.
Why? Why did they take such a light and fluffy and fun drama and turn it to crap? Ugh... I hope it gets back to being the awesomeness that it was, but we all know that there is more stupid to happen. It's only episode 12. They have almost 4 episodes left to put in all the extra drama tropes that haven't occurred as of yet. I say almost, because they have to leave the last 10-15 minutes of the final episode to "clean things up". *sigh*
The convoluted plot that I loved when this show started got too convoluted. It was so good, but I feel like the writers should have ended this several episodes ago. I'm struggling with episode 14. My mind literally keeps wandering... It's sad. This show was amazing.
If nothing else, I'm pleased that they are covering male breast cancer. I think that it's something that most men think is only a thing that women can get and are embarrassed and reluctant to believe it can happen to them. Just like the doctor said, "Men have breasts, so they can have breast cancer." That needs to be accepted by men. Obviously, it's not as common for them, but it happens. They covered it in Nip/Tuck as well. I appreciate when people bring awareness to things like this so that other people know to look for and not be embarrassed about things like this.
Took me FOREVER to finish this show... Then they ended it like that? Thanks a lot, writers. You have proven to me once again that I'm stupid for sticking with a show after I reach a certain point out of pure stubbornness.
I'll say that I always stick to the one that got me hooked... You're Beautiful. I've loved SO many dramas, but that's the one that pulled me in and kept me here. ^_^
Gah... How much more are they going to stretch this out... The extension could seriously ruin what was actually a good drama. I hadn't thought that I was going to like it as much as I have been! *sigh* I don't know how much more I can take of the back and forth with good and evil.
I'm so tired of Poong Yeon. C'mon dude, you know Hong Joo is manipulative and dangerous! I don't really understand…
I'm holding out hope that he has a serious change of heart or he's pretending to follow Hong Joo to save Yeon Hee... And then he'll prove his love by being the sacrifice needed to light the last candle. <--- I know that sounds awful, but the alternative is killing Heo Jun. Someone's going down and we all know second leads, especially ones who seem to be "bad", tend to be the ones to have redemption episodes.
Is it only me that still, after watching 14 episodes, I don't get the synopsis? Since when Heo Jun is royal physician…
Yeah, the synopsis is a bit off... but the elements are there... ish. She IS a princess and she was SORTA abandoned (if you consider attempted murder abandonment). He "wrote" a book with medical remedies (when he rewrote the grimoire) and he's gonna attempt to cure the king. However, that being said, the synopsis is pretty misleading.
Do Kyung legit ruined her marriage. Like, Hae Young would have been happily married right now if he hadn't gone…
I don't think that it had anything to do with him "giving up on life". I honestly think that he felt that all of his visions came to pass, so he was just accepting it for fact and decided that his dying was gonna happen whether or not he wanted it to, so he was trying to spare OHY the pain of a relationship with a man who is destined to die. Which is dumb, cuz honestly... None of us are guaranteed tomorrow. How wrong would it be if the writers decided to pull and artsy ending out of their butts and have OHY die after he goes back to her? *smh*

There is also the fact that if he hadn't done what he did, he would never have met and fallen in love with her, but he could have said/done so many things... I mean he got pissed off at the ex-fiance for telling her that he couldn't stand to watch her eat. What he did was just as, if not worse than, what the ex did. Sense... It makes none.
The original comment I put up was from after watching episode 11. I hadn't seen him with his flash of life scene where he was able to see what happens to him if he keeps following the path that he was following. Honestly, he left her because he saw himself dying, right? I question him so hard for running back to her now, saying that he doesn't want to regret. I'm wondering if there's a healthy dose of "I don't wanna die" in the mix now. Just sayin'.

Mmmm not sure how I feel about episode 9. It was very dramatic, almost a bit heavy-handed too. So has Do-kyung…
I think what they're trying to do is say that he's had a vision of himself in a car accident... But it hasn't happened yet. So, he's gonna try to break things off with Next Door Hae Young because he doesn't want to hurt her. Bleh.
I watched up to episode 3... I'm debating on whether or not to continue. I was pretty bored with the plot. I kinda wanna watch more just for Soo Hyuk, but even his character isn't holding my attention. Ugh. I really hate dropping things, but I don't think I can finish this one.
