I kind of disagree with with Phayu and Rain because even though they are a LGBTQ+ couple, they also have a dom/brat…
Interesting analysis. I'm not sure I've even heard of the dom/brat relationship. I guess we can learn something new each day. Thanks for the info. However, I stand by my response to the enema scene.
I personally like this series. I find it funny how on this page people don't like this series and want to drop…
I would guess many would agree with you, even if they wouldn't admit it. LMBO! Honestly, I'm just smh on this series. I would agree with someone's post that "this is good Sunday morning fluff while sipping your coffee!" HA! HA! IMO, this series is simply a cutesy series meant to entertain, only. Yeah, some will like it, some will hate it, and most of the rest of us will remain somewhere in the middle. That being said, I think the series is so-so. But I'll watch it anyway -- because I also don't have much to do on a Sunday while sipping my coffee. LMFAO!
I agree with your assessment. What’s driving the consensus that there won’t be more?. Like you, I get the…
Agreed. I'm not sure if you read the original novel (English translation version). But much of the perceived Chinese government's objection to Addicted wasn't necessarily the LGBTQ+ aspect, but the scenes in the novel (especially in Book 2) portrayed the Chinese military in an extremely "negative" light. I believed that if that part about the Chinese military had been changed or even removed, the government might not have come down so heavily on Addicted, its actors, and the production company.
In Stay with Me, those references are completely removed from this version.
Although this was the "censored" version of the original novel (and of Addicted), I think this series was well done. It provided just enough intrigue, love and caring, and "bromance-to-possible-romance" that the Chinese government would likely allow. The story allowed the actors to really shine in their roles. Finally, this series also followed the novel fairly well (with a few plot changes, and none of the sex scenes). I think it totally deserves the MDL ratings it received thus far, and I'm not so sure (like others) that there will not be a season 2. I have a feeling that it just might happen. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
This series is an "adaptation" of the novel. In the novel, the cousin is a real a-hole, who does a lot awful stuff…
That's in this adaptation. However, in the novel (English translation), the cousin has the hots for Su Yu (Bai Yo Lin), as well as always jealous of Wu Bi (Gu Hai).
Okay. I've read many posts indicating that folks thought Lom is a d*ck-head and an a-hole for pursuing Nuea, while engaged to someone else. Yeah, he's a d*ck. Well, Nuea isn't much better! He wasn't dumb to Lom's advances and did very little about it. Then, he turned around and had sex with Lom (knowing he was engaged to another person). No matter how MAME wants to make that act seem romantic -- as far as Nuea is concerned, it's still a freaking low-class/no-class thing for him to do as well. So, actually, they're both d*ck-heads and a-holes.
Marriages of convenience are very common, and that's precisely what this type of marriage is. Two homosexual people…
Interesting "rant"! It's obvious that you put in a great deal of thought into your post. I commend you. I would tend to agree with much of what you "ranted" about. You make some excellent points, which require further thought and processing, at least for me. Humans are fallible creatures (always are, always have been, always will be). Yes, much of what you assert is most likely accurate, given the variance of cultures and societies represented on this planet and especially in the southeast Asian regions. And yes, this is merely a BL series, and most people who watch them are probably watching them for many of their own reasons, as well as the reasons of others.
Now, I'm finished with my "rant"! Enjoy the rest of the series! LMBO!
This series had potential. But it chose to revert back to the negative aspects that MAME's stories have become synonymous for. And, if you're not sure what those aspects are, here's a sample: lies, manipulation, drunk sex, infidelity, and deception -- and these are the better of the aspects! LMBO!
But, since it's only 7 eps., I can finish watching without too much "upchucking!" LFMAO!!!!
It would seem many agree with you if you use IG numbers as an indication with Film have many many followers more…
Hmm? I can't disagree with your logic. However, I believe that Film is getting a lot of "press" here because he's playing a character soooo different than he did in TSWL. I'm really not sure about Jam's character. What do you thinK?
Good analysis! I have a sneaking suspicion that the "traitor" is either Rose or Maya (I bet it is Maya).
How about this as a theory? If it's not Rose or Maya, then what about Charn's driver/assistant. The way he looks at him indicates something "more." If so, he may be jealous of Tinn and wants Charn only for himself???
In Stay with Me, those references are completely removed from this version.
