Interesting points. However, also in the "real" world, a grown man hanging out with a teenaged stranger would seem kind of interesting to say the least and creepy to say the most.
I actually like the crossover eps with BB and ATOS. I must agree that the plot was a little "all over the place." But I think that was due to this being a crossover ep. and the blending of two storylines (which could've been a little more cohesive). However, it was entertaining and there were some funny and romantic moments. I would also agree with other posters that Earth and Mix seemed to have a little bit better chemistry than Ohm and Nanon. I think that the rating of 8.0 is actually a pretty fair rating, IMO. It was good, but could've been better with a few tweaks.
Now, I do disagree with those posters comparing Our Skyy 2 to Our Skyy 1. Although the premise of the two series were similar, their focus and execution were completely different. Our Skyy 1 was in its infancy and "kind of" "sort of" patterned itself in line with the other anthology series that were out at the time. And, each segment only had (1) ep to tell its story. Our Skyy 2 comes along 5 years later with its (2) ep. segments and of course it's going to seem better than the previous one -- why wouldn't it when the current series had more time to develop each story, better series to work with, better actors and directors and probably a better budget. I'm just saying!
I don't know why, but I get this "daddy-son" vibe from Jeng and Pat's relationship (or relationship-to-be). It's a good thing that Pat is an adult, albeit barely! LMBO!
I really didn't think this series was as "bad" as many of the comments would lead one to think. Yeah, it did have lapses of dragging, poor writing, and a story that didn't always flow. But, at least it was an attempt for Thai BLs to begin the transition into more "mature" storylines and not always focus on high school or uni BLs.
Yes, those types of BLs will unfortunately probably always be around (because their often cheap to make, quick to produce, and have an established fangirl audience). But, as the actors mature, I think that they would want their talent, skills and role to also mature. Yes, we all realize that it's "acting" and that's what actors due. But really, how many true professional actors would even want to continue to play "high school or university" roles well into the mid-to-late 20's and even into their early 30's. Now, if that's the ONLY work that's available, that would be a different issue, IMO.
Maybe it's time to start having MLs (Men's Love) in addition to BLs (Boys Love)???
I'm not sure what to say about this series. I totally agree that it set a high bar for other BLs with it's story, cinematography, attention to detail and mature subject matter. It is NO DOUBT not your typical cutesy, lovey-dovey BL. There were many parts of the series I truly liked (and then there were the parts I truly disliked as well). I'm not going to go into the parts that I disliked, because I do not want to start a fury, such as it was before, regarding whether some of the actions in the series amounted to rape, noncom, or Stockholm or Lima syndrome, etc. IMO, I think that too many folks used too many Google look-ups to become "junior experts" on the subject. As a practicing licensed therapist, I found the whole conversation eerily funny and a bit concerning at the same time. But, I digress.
What I think is the most telling part about this series was the gritty mature subject matter. I mean, this BL didn't pull many punches with the story. Agree or disagree with what was presented, it certainly made an impact.
Finally, even though I had problems with some of the scenes and subject matter, it still was a great series, and a season 2 would've provided an opportunity to address not only some of the loose ends, but also provide a little clarity or even explanation (or vindication, if you will) to some of those scenes that I and many others found were a little uncomfortable with, but "still" enjoyed watching. LMBO!!
These were just my opinions, and anyone is more than welcome to agree or disagree.
I'm not really sure what to make of this series. I'm shm, especially at the character of Pat. Yes, he's immature and childish, afraid of his own shadow, and allows people to walk all over him. Unfortunately, many people do. But, what I really don't get (at least not yet) is the whole office dynamic. I get that the series is going for that stereotypical office where in BLs where no one actually does any work (except the boss), everyone is in everyone else's business and constantly gossiping, etc. That's fine if that is part of the plot. But it does get old after a while to see grown-ups constantly acting like they're back in high school with NO progression in their characters. Even though it's probably done for comic relief, the joke gets old when told too many times. But, other than what I just stated, I think the series is okay. I'm willing to wait to see if it gets better or stays on the same course.

When they do "fix" it. I hope the writers will give Nan some dialogue to set Phu straight that you don't just run out of people's lives thinking you're doing it for them. That's a level of selfishness I can't even explain.
OK. I really like this series. But the series to be based on "The Promise" is oblivious to me, because not one promise, except one, has been kept! Phu did promise Nan's dad to help him get through university, and he did. However, that was a promise to Nan's dad and NOT Nan. As far as Nan is concerned, Phu became better at "breaking" promises than keeping them. Nan has kept his promises. Also, all the lies and deception Phu is doing to keep Nan from knowing that he loves him is absolutely ridiculous, and he's done it for over 10 years! Nan might not realize his true feelings for Phu, but he doesn't deserve the hurt Phu is putting him through.
If Phu wasn't such a good person, Nan would and could do better with someone who won't lie and deceive him for 10 years. Phu claimed he didn't say anything to prevent from ruining the "friendship." But he "left" the friendship, without ANY warning or explanation! How can that action NOT ruin it! I'll tell you. It's Nan doing everything in his power to get back his friend, even if it took 10 years. Like I said, if Phu wasn't such a good guy and good match for Nan, I say to Nan, "Kick his ass to the curb and go elsewhere to find your happiness!
OK. I get that Pat's a newbie in his first job. I get that Jeng is a micromanager trying to prove something to his father. Yes, I even get that this is a cringy workplace and that all of this is to heighten the comedy-drama of this BL. But, some of the stuff is a bit trope-like and stereotypical and could've been left out and the series would be just fine. But, it's kust the first couple of eps., so I guess we can see how this series develops.
Firstly, unless you are triggered by the subject matter, I recommend that anyone should watch any series or movie…
Interesting analysis! I'm not really sure if I agree or disagree with much of it. But it is interesting. IMO, I think it's good that posters like yourself actually take the time to analyze (at least for yourself) the issues you addressed. Sometimes, those issues are far more complicated than just "liking" or "not liking" what going on in the series. Anyway, to each his own and have fun with it, because all the BL series are produced primarily to focus on entertainment vs enlightenment. And to push the sponsors product! LMBO!

Unfortunately, I have to agree with many of the posters here. This series is bad on so many levels that I don't know where to begin. But, the treatment of the "subs" by the "doms" is enough for me to say, "okay, this is NOT my cup of tea!" So, I'm off this train before it crashes and burns. Maybe I'll pick it back up after it's finished. The rest of you, "enjoy the ride."

Most likely 1 of 2 reasons: 1) It's to build up a different "half" of the story, but aired in the same year, such as "We Best Love 1 and 2"; or 2) It has to do with $$$$ (i.e., not enough sponsors, etc.). These would be my guesses.

If Phu wasn't such a good person, Nan would and could do better with someone who won't lie and deceive him for 10 years. Phu claimed he didn't say anything to prevent from ruining the "friendship."
