Well, of course you can watch whatever you want but this is definitely not the usual "romance rape trope" because…
Hmmm. Interesting. The "rape" scene was in the previews for the next ep. Have you seen that ep. already? How can you know that it's "refreshing the way it's being dealt with in the show?"
OK. The sexual assault by the ex-boyfriend did it for me. I'm out of here. I'm so sick and tired of the BL rape trope. The rest of you enjoy the ride. But, I'm off this train wreck.
I'm not sure, but I believe @Blyeth is probably referring to the fact that Uea has been (and is being) victimized and nothing appears to be done about it, not even from Uea. And that may be part of the story plot.
All I will say is at least the characters and story appear to be are a little more mature and not focused around the blue, brown or black shorts HS boys!
True. But honestly, the series actually had a "few" good scenes that were reminiscent of the HIStory series, such as when Hai Yi discovered who Johnny was with the "stinky tofu" and the the scene in the last ep. where we discover that Hai Yi and Liang were helping each other all along and that Liang was actually "Sam." I thought those were good scenes -- then they even tainted that by throwing in the toxic couple from H4. GEEZ!
I think we all saw that ending coming from 10 miles away. This series wasn't bad. It was just NOT good. Yeah, the chemistry between Pond and Phuwin was okay, It just wasn't enough to offset the numerous plot holes and story shortages. However, the visuals and cinematography were good, and that's about it. But it's at least watchable. I'd give this series an overall score of 6, which puts it in the average category where it actually belongs.
There have been some pretty bad BL series with pretty bad final eps. Unfortunately, this series and final ep. will probably rank right there with them!!
You know what! This series was actually quite good. It was kind of like "Love Sick" meets "Bad Buddy," with a sprinkle of "Cutie Pie" mixed in. Fourth and Gemini had great chemistry and seem to work really well with one another. Although they're already in two series together right now, I foresee them being in quite a few more over the next year or two.
Totally agree! The use of H4 couple as an example was definitely a mistake, on soooo many levels!
Agreed. And, all good points. But let me clarify. LMBO! I actually liked most of H4. But, the Xing Yi/Yong Jie storyline just rubbed me the wrong way and was definitely not the norm for any previous HIStory series. But, I loved the Xiao Li Cheng/Teng Mu Ren portions. Now, that was the HIStory I remembered and liked! LOL!

Honestly, I was NOT a fan of H4, when they "progressed the relationship" of Xing Yi and Yong Jie. Not only was the relationship was/is messy (all the way), it thoroughly changed the dynamic of the HIStory series. Yeah, they kind of/sort of had something similar to the time travel thing. as well as the "stepbrother/brother" thing. So, those concepts weren't new. However, the HIStory series (to which most were pretty good, IMO) never crossed that "stalker/rape/noncom" line, at least not until H4. Also, with H5, I don't remember any of the prior HIStory series being soooo silly and immature in the plot. Unless, I missed something.
