Here I go again, on my soapbox. But, who cares. I was just beginning to like Lian's character, then BAM! That dramatic effect of sex! Although the series is now portraying that Lian "loves" Kuea, it also seems to show that Lian loves "banging" Kuea even more. But, then again, he did wait at least until Kuea became of age. LMBO!!!
As much as I like Perth, I dislike his character in this series. He's a manipulative, backstabbing, low-life scumbag and a-hole. He seems to take pleasure in selling out Kuea. Man! He's low! This definitely breaks him out of being type-cast as a quiet introvert.
man these comments are rather vitriolic for a show I'd consider to be a pretty standard Thai BL. Is it excellent?…
I believe much of the angst folks are having with this series is that even though it's "cute," it also kind of exacerbates what some may seem as overly stereotypic, toxic, and demeaning of relationships within the lgbtq+ community. Yes, it's a tv show, but many see this as being a reflection of "real" life. Just my opinion.
Okay. I know this series is supposed to be farcical at times. I get that. But, dressing Toh up in a pink shirt with white shorts to go to Nuea's parents anniversary party. Come on! That was a bit much. I'm sorry. The rest of the ep was ok.
I definitely don't like how often the top-bottom hashtag argument comes up in the dialogue. But I wouldn't say…
Interesting! I didn't think about it that way. However, I'd have to say I agree. I guess we'll have to see how the series progresses to see if you're right.
I don't really know how I feel about this series. It's ok. As one poster noted, another uni-type series. But in this one, the mains are about the same age and uni year. I also don't like how the series is already setting up Nuea to be the "uke" character and Kluen the "seme." It would be nice if the characters could be on equal footing in the beginning of their relationship. That kind of makes the series fall back on old cliches and tropes. But, it' still cute and I like it enough to stick with it, at least for now.
Came here to say the same. I thought it was cute, but it’s so slow. I’ll probably still watch because I have…
I understand that most of the actors are newbies. So, I'm willing to give them a pass. However, the director and screenwriter are not newbies. So, hmmm!
In my last post, I was willing to give Lian a slight pass based on some of his "changes." But, it appears that Lian is the same old manipulative, psychologically abusive d*ckhead as he ever was. He's still playing games with Kuea, hiding info from Kuea, and now he gets to bang him to boot! Also, that explanation to Kuea on his change, "You're so cute, I couldn't hold back!" So, all of this was because he wanted sex from Kuea! Okay, you're now banging the kid... now what?
Oddly enough, manipulating younger people for sex seems to be the only thing in this ep. that actually makes sense!
This show is "painful" to watch. The first few eps. were kind of ok. But now, the pace is too slow, the story is stagnating, and the characters are becoming so one-dimensional. I'm dropping this. Maybe I'll binge it later.
Initially, I was going to say, "oh no, not another series silly hi-jinx with uni freshy boys story," and blast it's trope-like plot and drop it. However, the last scene actually made me rethink that decision. I'm now going to give it a little more time to develop. I hope I don't regret my decision. LMBO!
I'm still trying to wrap my head around this ep. As much as I was indifferent to some of the earlier eps., I actually liked this one. It was sweet and romantic, and you do get to see a more caring side of Lian towards Kuea. I think that many posters' comments would've been so much more positive if they hadn't portrayed Lian as such of a controlling, psychologically abusive a*shole during the earlier eps. Again, not having read the novel, I'm not sure that Lian was meant to be this way, or if it was a change in his character for the series. But, I'm starting to like him much more than I did before.
