I understand that most of the actors are newbies. So, I'm willing to give them a pass. However, the director and screenwriter are not newbies. So, hmmm!

I hear ya. I may come back in a couple of eps to see if the pace and plot has picked up.

P.S. Lian and Yi discussing his sexual encounter, and Lian says "It was good..." Makes you want to slap the sh*t out of both of them!

In my last post, I was willing to give Lian a slight pass based on some of his "changes." But, it appears that Lian is the same old manipulative, psychologically abusive d*ckhead as he ever was. He's still playing games with Kuea, hiding info from Kuea, and now he gets to bang him to boot! Also, that explanation to Kuea on his change, "You're so cute, I couldn't hold back!" So, all of this was because he wanted sex from Kuea! Okay, you're now banging the kid... now what?

Oddly enough, manipulating younger people for sex seems to be the only thing in this ep. that actually makes sense!

This show is "painful" to watch. The first few eps. were kind of ok. But now, the pace is too slow, the story is stagnating, and the characters are becoming so one-dimensional. I'm dropping this. Maybe I'll binge it later.

Initially, I was going to say, "oh no, not another series silly hi-jinx with uni freshy boys story," and blast it's trope-like plot and drop it. However, the last scene actually made me rethink that decision. I'm now going to give it a little more time to develop. I hope I don't regret my decision. LMBO!

I disliked this ep as much as all the others. Just, like no.
You got that right! LMAO! And, thanks! You're a class act yourself.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this ep. As much as I was indifferent to some of the earlier eps., I actually liked this one. It was sweet and romantic, and you do get to see a more caring side of Lian towards Kuea. I think that many posters' comments would've been so much more positive if they hadn't portrayed Lian as such of a controlling, psychologically abusive a*shole during the earlier eps. Again, not having read the novel, I'm not sure that Lian was meant to be this way, or if it was a change in his character for the series. But, I'm starting to like him much more than I did before.

May be with Mr. Korn. He is very soft to Porsche. Probably being like that knowingly.
Yeah. He did seem to really want Porsche in the foal..

He also looked at Kinn's ring like he recognized it... Or that is the feeling I got.
Yeah, I forgot about the ring. Good catch!

Even in this first ep., you get the sense that Porsche has a unknown connection to either Kinn's father or to Kinn. Hmmm 🤔.

In real life, it's 9 yrs. In the series, it's pretty close to that, although they never really say.
You might be right.

I totally agree with you. I do believe that there is a power dynamic, an unhealthy grooming, and unrealistic expectations of a situation such as Lian and Kuea. Some would even consider this as "child abuse." I was just speaking to the idea that it's unfortunately not uncommon in cultures that still practice arranged marriages. BTW, I'm one of those folks who thinks it's "icky."

P.S. It's mainly the arranged marriage thing between children (or babies) and someone much older creeps me out. Because I do think it's a form of child abuse.

Some may think it's icky, but in many cultures, where there are arranged marriages, it's not uncommon for one to be significantly older than the other.

You're right!
Actually, I thought the same regarding that scene. But, I was just commenting on how the series was trying to do too much with so little on-air time.

I think that part of the problem with this series is its length. I think they're trying to convey too much in such a short amount of time. Taiwanese and Philippine BLs are much better at the shorter-timed series (or at least they're more used to it).

I totally agree. I also thought it felt the scenes seemed choppy and out of place. Maybe it was the camera action or maybe it was the direction of the director -- but, it did seem off.

Now, as for the kitchen scene, I really didn't like it, but at least it's typical of a cheesy drama (there's an argument between lovers that it ends up them having sex in the kitchen, if they actually had sex). LMBO!

Lian seems like he has a bipolar disorder, nice-then-manic, manic-then-lovey dovey, lovey dovey-then-manipulative, etc., etc., etc. At other times, Lian comes off as a lecherous "old" man panting to "devour" or "deflower" Kuea. Remember, Lian's is supposed to be in mid-to-late twenties and he's still presumably a virgin (waiting on Kuea).
