I'm so sick of 8 episode dramas. This drama was so good and touched on very important and real topics but trying to fit that into 8 episodes whilst simultaneously staying on track with the plot felt slightly rushed.
Examples being: - how did yeseo join the escorts, what was her journey, did they turn her away at first etc - how did jae hui end up on the streets in the first place - why was gil ho a driver and what happened to him in the end, will he remain a vigilante - how will the dad and prosecuter live with ptsd of all that they've seen - how will yeseo live with the grief and ptsd - what was the countries reaction to all the corruption - what was the relationship between K and Gil ho - Having the Idol be a villain was a clear example of the Burning Sun case, so I wish they didn't kill him off so quickly. So many kpop fans don't realise that their bias is just another human capable of doing evil and heinous things (they eat and sh*t just like you)
I think with 12/16 episode dramas, it can sometimes drag especially with romance, but with dark shows like this I think we need more episodes to actually feel the emotion that they're dealing with.
The reviews are quite varied so I am giving my review to convince people to actually watch the film.
Plot (no spoilers): The films main plot revolves around the Korean police/secret service (idk) transporting Korean criminals hiding in the Philippines back to Korea. The criminals manage to break free and they wreak havoc on the boat. What the police nor prisoners know is that there is another person being transported on the same boat who has a superhuman type strength due to secret governmental science experiments during WWII (he doesn't age). So there are now more dangers on the boat and they are in the middle of the ocean. Who will survive... watch and you will find out :)
My review (no spoilers): The film was definitely bloody, gory, and chaotic. The cast was amazing and acted out the characters well. The plot was pretty simple but made up for it with the action. You are left rooting for characters you never imagined, and also hoping for the death of other characters. I probably wouldn't watch again just for the lack of character building and deep storyline, as the film is 95% action. However, if i'm looking for something entertaining rather than intellectually stimulating then I may have another go.
I'm thinking about to watch this drama, but I'm not sure yet.Can someone please let me know, what this drama is…
Its a show about a group of law students (more so classmates rather than friends) who work together to solve a few cases (can't spoil) involving their professor and each other. It includes themes of corruption, law, studying, mooting, and friendship. Would defo recommend the show, I find it so motivating and interesting. However, those not interested in law might find it a bit boring at parts as large chunks of some episodes involve university lectures and study sessions all to solve the cases.
