This drama brought me a problem. I fell in love with Xu Kai and wanna see more of him but all his others dramas…
I really liked his voice in Arsenal Military Academy. Maybe even better than his real voice đ His character there is also my favourite ML, so I would recommend watching it.
No it wouldn't for me, the power and maturity imbalance would still make it creepy and make it what it is: pedophilia.…
I understand why people have issues with teacher-student relationships because of the power imbalance and I generally donât like large age gaps, but in this case itâs factually not correct to call it pedophilia. Pedophilia refers by definition to sexual attraction of an adult to a prepubescent child. In this drama, the student is 17 (therefore not prepubescent). Heâs also above the age of consent, so any sexual relationships wouldnât even be classified as statutory rape. That said, I think teacher-student relationships are still a criminal offence and I totally understand why people find it morally wrong.
I'm thinking the same that they are the reincarnation of high gods. Instead of starting the drama in a linear…
Me too! And I like that the pacing is quite fast. I find a lot of Wuxia dramas too slow at the start. And I am enjoying that they start in the mortal realm, because in other dramas I find that part a bit boring but here itâs quite interesting especially as we see them learning more about who they are, and cultivating their powers.
Iâve only watched the first 3 episodes, but am enjoying it so far. Iâve got a feeling that Lu Li might be the reincarnation of the Moon Supreme God and Liu Shao might be the reincarnation of the Sun Supreme God (given that she was able to catch the fire spirit and the Sun Supreme God was apparently a woman)?? Has anyone read the novel?
Its considered as rape even if they have consensual sex and the adult will be thrown into the jail. This is wrong
Itâs not rape because the student is over 16 and therefore above the age of consent. However, student-teacher relationships are still a criminal offence in many countries, so she could go to prison. I think it has something to do with the power imbalance, and being in a position of trust.
i find it interesting that people are commenting about how teacher/student romances are illegal, and they shouldnât…
I think what people find troubling is that a teacher-student relationship is romanticised. Normally other criminal offences like rape or murder are not romanticised.
But so far, I am finding the student-teacher relationship here not as problematic, because the student here is above the age of consent (at least based on western standards), so it wouldnât be classified as statutory rape. In addition, what normally troubles me about student-teacher relationships is the power imbalance but here, itâs actually the student who has much more power and influence because his parents are basically running the school and he can get her fired anytime. So far, I also canât see any elements of âgroomingâ because itâs the student who is actively pursuing the teacher.
I agree, I thought she would be Naksu in the purest form but instead she is just a Mudeok remake. The writers…
Totally agree. And if I remember right, itâs always emphasised how Uk is born under the kings star and is basically a genius, who will become the saviour of everyone. And maybe I just like strong female characters, but I really wanted to see Naksu as an equal to him. But instead, she was basically just his maid in s1. And now it sounds like heâs even more mighty and powerfulâŠ
I agree, I thought she would be Naksu in the purest form but instead she is just a Mudeok remake. The writers…
Yeah I stopped watching s1 at some point because it bothered me how Uk was getting more and more powerful while Naksu stayed basically a maid. I was hoping it would change in s2 (where both could be powerful and equal, fighting together) but sounds like thatâs not the case. Havenât watched any of the episodes yet though!
Actually... I am kinda dissapointed now. I rewatched so many scenes and for me, I am 90% sure that Jaebeom is…
I agree! I am also thinking that the killer is probably Jae Beom but would find that super disappointing. I donât like people with mental illnesses being portrayed in that way, and in any case, it wouldnât be very gratifying seeing a person with a mental illness who probably had no control over what he was doing being punished or maybe put into prison. Plus Jae Beom doesnât even have memories of the event anymore. Unless they suddenly suggest that he actually had his memories all along and was just faking it - but that would still be disappointing. I really hope itâs someone else, but I doubt itâs O Sung because thatâs too predictable. Other option would be violin guy but he doesnât get enough screentime. So that brings me back to Jae Beom which would be so disappointing.
If you see the preview of the 11th ep, when Jihyun comes on screen, the subtitles translate to someone saying…
I just find it hard to imagine that he liked her, given how many times heâs used her before. Like posting photos of her on Instagram to get followers, or when he made this fake nude photo of her. If he suddenly likes her, that would be quite inconsistent with his actions so far. He also seemed way more jealous with Jae Beom.
I actually didnât finish the first season because I was annoyed that FL was meant to be this badass but instead…
Same here! I loved Naksu in ep 1, season 1, but then she was never that badass again the rest of the season (I watched until ep 16 I think). Was really hoping sheâd be back in s2 but sounds like thatâs not the case so far?
ive only watched ep 1, but maybe because im still hung onto mudeok, i dont think i'll be rooting for the relationship…
I actually didnât finish the first season because I was annoyed that FL was meant to be this badass but instead ended up just following Uk around as a servant. Was hoping that this changes in season 2 (in which case I would finish watching season 1), but sounds like itâs not the case and instead FL just has amnesia and becomes more of a damsel in distress?
Is O Sung in love with Jae Beom and trying to protect him from himself that's why he won't reveal the truth or…
Thatâs what Iâm thinking too but wondering it itâs too predictable? Also possible that Jae Beom and Won Seok were together (or Jae Beom thought they were dating), and then he found out that Won Seok actually liked violin guy.
But the other mystery is who killed that teenager murderer guy. Is it the same person who also killed Won Seok? The show is implying that itâs the same person, but then Won Seok would need to be more of a mastermind. Or maybe his alter ego is fully aware whatâs going on.
Started watching this a couple of days and have already caught up! My theory is that O Sung isnât the killer - he seems too calculating to just push someone off a building. Especially when you consider how much thought and preparation he put into the video live stream and setting up an Instagram account. I also doubt that he likes his (step) sister. If he liked her, he wouldnât have used her so much. Like editing her photo and sharing that across the whole school. I originally got the vibe that he likes Jae Beom. The show is somehow hinting on this big love quartet between the four boys in the picture. Maybe O Sung liked Jae Beom, but Jae Beom liked Won Seok, and Won Seok liked Se Jin (or vice versa). It seems likely that one of them would have pushed Won Seok, but like I said before, itâs too predictable to be O Sung. Se Jin could be a possibility but he doesnât get much screentime. So most likely scenario is Jae Beom or his alter ego. But I would find that a bit disappointing if that turns out to be true. If it was his alter ego or heâs lost his memory since, then itâs hard to keep anyone accountable.
do you think, girls, is it a special scene (for Go Ahead tribute) or just coincidence?
Definitely intentional. They also have tribute to My Sunshine (an older cdrama), because Fang Shu Miao works in the same law firm and one of the lawyers made a special appearance.
I 1000000% love LLTG part 1, but part 2 fell short for me..Unless something great really comes up in the next…
I started watching LLTG up to episodes 6-7 but then dropped it because there was basically no screen time between the leads. But everyone seems to be raving about it so maybe I should give it another try. And we do seem to have a similar tastes in dramas because I also loved LBFAD.
Overall, it was a really nice drama. But I prefered the first part way more. I guess business / workplace settings…
Same here, I preferred the first part because the second part was a bit too angsty for me. But overall pretty happy with the whole drama and how it ended! If I rewatched, I would probably just watch ep 2-19 and some of the cute scenes in ep 35+36.
