In one of the previews, if it can be trusted, it appears like some measure of revenge will be had as the wives…
Where did you see that preview? I must have missed that.

I'm not sure whether it was a manifestation of the actress' psyche or song won herself, but I swear she almost…
I would love for Song Won to end up with someone else, for exactly those reasons, but not with the engineer. I want to see the engineer with Si-Eun.

So you are telling me 1st season aint good but 2nd season is better? I normally dont even start a drama with rating…
I would suggest watching the first 8 episodes of season 1, then skipping 9-16, and then watching all of season 2. I am finding season 2 much better, but I think the first 8 episodes of season 1 are quite important.

It was satisfying, indeed. Now, I'm going to watch Penthouse 3, respond to the inevitable Song Won haters and…
I am actually starting to like Song Won a little. I think she’s starting to realise how immature the lawyer is and may not even want to be with him (even if he was divorced). But I hope the preview doesn’t end up being true. I want to see Seo Ban with Si-Eun.

I assumed it was mostly women watching and commenting on the show! Also everyone loved ep 10. 200 new comments on Reddit haha. SPY was amazing!!

The board seems quiet today - maybe a reflection of the slow-as-molasses pace of ep 9.

That said, I thought the episode was quite good and the actress playing SPY did an amazing job, I really felt for her and I liked that for once the focus was on one of the wives rather than the mistresses. But I am hoping SPY will get her voice back and kick out her husband in the next episode. But with this show, you never know. Might all be dream/imagination sequences.

You bring up a good point. So much time in the first season was spent establishing Pi Young's rocky relationship…
I think people spend a lot of time arguing about BHR and Song Won, as well as the lawyer is because they seem more morally ambiguous, whereas everyone probably agrees that the other two husbands and mistresses are not very likeable

Sorry I don’t fully get the connection to the point I made. I felt like Ami and the other mistresses actually got a lot of Screen time given they’re meant to be support characters. And I think everyone would agree that Yu Sin is the worst for how he manipulates everyone around him.

It does seem weird to me how the lawyer and his mistress get so much screen time, wand BHR comparably gets no background or storyline. The only time she appears on screen these days is to be mean/abusive to her husband or to flirt with other men. It really annoys me how one-dimensional they’re portraying her character when she’s meant to be a main character. I’d like to see more character development but I doubt we’ll get that.

Yes, the misogynistic tenor of the comments is disturbing, especially coming from other women. For every comment…
Hmm good question. I got the sense from the preview that they didn’t really know each other given that she didn’t know what his job is. And i would be surprised if she was his fathers ex-wife given that she’s only 7 years older than Dong-Ma. Really can’t figure out their connection...

I would be surprised by that. Seo Ban and Dong Ma are half-brothers, and their family seems to live in Korea given that Dong-Ma brought Seo Ban home-made food. Ami’s family lives in the US as far as I recall.

Can anyone explain the purpose of the two brothers? They appear in every episode. Where do they fit into the story…
Good question. I reckon Seo Ban will be the love interest of one of the wives (probably Si-Eun), and unsure about Dong Ma. Initially I thought he might be a love interest for Hye-Ryeong, but maybe he’s just there to stir drama (for both Ga-Bin and Hye-Ryeong maybe). Wouldn’t be surprised if Ga-Bin ends up leaving the professor for him.

I am wondering the exact same thing? Could they be adopted brothers in love with each other???
I thought they were half-brothers and their dad left Seo Ban’s mother for Dong Ma’s mother. That would explain why Dong Ma seems to have a much tighter relationship with his dad/family than Seo Ban does, and why Seo Ban is so pessimistic about relationships.

Same! This is the first drama I’ve ever commented on. So the writers must be doing something right. But totally agree that the characters are very polarising. Personally, I actually like all 3 wives despite their flaws. And love all the children, especially Si-Eun‘s daughter. She’s probably my favourite character. At least that’s something everyone can agree on.

I watched an OST video on YouTube that seems to show future scenes in season 2 and they actually made me feel incredibly sorry for SPY.

In the beginning, she seemed different and cool because she was a drummer - he told her that. He didn't care for…
I think Hye-Ryeong is only trying to get pregnant because she thought that’s what both her husband and her in-laws wanted. And clearly her husband is participating, and the in-laws keep asking for it. I 100% agree that they should just get a divorce, but I also think the whole family has been lying to her. Her husband sleeps with her, tells her he broke it off with the mistress, but gives the mistress an engagement ring! Anyway, I hope she finally signs the divorce papers and moves on.

I would understand if they prefer Song Won but I think it’s so wrong that his mother is still encouraging Hye-Ryeong to get pregnant. In this episode, she told her son that Hye-Ryeong should cut back on work to get pregnant while hanging out at the mistress’ house and asking her to live with them. And the lawyer must still be sleeping with his wife, otherwise she wouldn’t be using pregnancy tests. There’s no doubt Hye-Ryeong is no angel but I still think it’s wrong how two-faced they are.
