I think it’s more so the patients, specifically in ep 7 wasn’t in her right mind (throwing herself in water almost drowning), they view it as dangerous-harming one-self. Like an erratic behavior. So they tried or keep cautious of her being around water.

I’m not all that into romance either (unless it’s well written) but I think the romance(albeit not the main focus) here is nice & doesn’t drive away the main plot points. It’s woven nicely into the story. ✨
