It’s not going to depict every bad moments in YW’s life. If it were, (constant dog piling of bad experiences) it’d be too insufferable to watch. It’s good to see all kinds of different portrayal-stories with autistic characters about friendship & love. Not just like in the GD. It is fiction.
I don’t think the ML is boring or perfect. Simple, yes. But it gives him more humanly quality? You can see that he tries to understand & communicate with YW the best he knows how (albeit gets advice from his peers & YW’s friend). He took in interest in her & started from there (whale talks, lunch, working together). It’s also been a span of few months since they met (from Ep 1-4).
This is 16 episode compare to GD (20 ep) so it may seem like everything is happening fast but the pace is very good (so far).

The cases aren’t too heavy. Its an episodic narrative so each case is solved within 1 episode. Although there are some trigger warnings: - bullying, slight blood, physical violence, suicide, death. But nothing too gory or explicit.
