I think it was the script which was bad. He filmed ever night before Legend of the awakening and he was good in…
I liked him as NQ more so than Dylan Wang (not a fan of DW). I didn’t watch ENS2 because CFY wasn’t in it. To me CFY’s acting is okay given that he was 17 & a newcomer at that time. It’s good that he’s going to acting school to hone his skills and grow since he is serious about acting. I don’t know anything about the source material for this drama but I’m curious about it since CFY is in it.

I really liked him as NQ but his acting was just okay to me. His appearance is very befitting of NQ. LOTA writing was not good nor was the direction lol so acting wise, it fell short. CF has potential(w/a good director & script) plus he’s (still) going drama school so I want to know how his acting has matured. He did mentioned in an interview that his role here as MoRan deeply resonated with him so I want to see his portrayal.
The costume designs for this show looks amazing. I was actually somewhat interested in this one because of the synopsis after watching the trailer but seeing how things are now, not so much. Although it sucks for the cast & production team, I’m not sure if this will be aired. It’d be very awkward & not good due to the current situation. Honestly don’t know why they cast him in the first place.
how was he in EN? I din't watch this show but I consider to watch it
In terms of physicality & appearance wise, he was really good. He has the height & built/physique. He fit the image of NQ as the ML but his acting can use much improvement . It was his first BIG mainstream drama work & of course he was pretty much a rookie in the acting circle & 17yrs. If I were to be completely honest, his acting doesn’t do much for me in terms of the emotional aspects(not emoting well with his face) & I find his line delivery lacking but he did dubbed his own voice-over in EN. He has a really nice voice lol. Action-sequence wise, he’s good. His chemistry with his costars was also good. The show does has some amazing fight scenes & cinematography amongst other Wuxia-fantasy dramas. Visually, EN is a good looking show with its high production & cast. So when I watched him in LOTA, I was slightly disappointed that his acting/role wasn’t much different if not weaker than in EN. So I’m curious to see how he is in here.
The fact that this drama has over 5k comments before premiere date is wow…must be very much anticipated. I’m curious to see how CFY’s acting has evolved since EN & attending acting university. His role in LOTA was pretty weak IMO. Let’s see how he fairs here.
Never been a fan of YZ nor SX. I tried to watch Doulou Continent but couldn’t pass the 1st ep & only know of SX because of the Untamed popularity. For YZ, her drama work isn’t really my cup of tea but this one seems interesting. Just watched the teaser and it seems like a slice of life/human drama which I like. I’ll keep on eye on it.
Son Seok Koo is the type of actor who should be a ML in a romance drama. He has so much charisma. His role here sounds interesting. Don’t consider myself a fan of KJW but her role sounds relatable and I’m want to see how her interactions plays out with Son Seo Koo‘s character. If this has a similar vibe to My Unfamiliar Family than I’ll definitely give this a watch.
Also, this is the same writer who wrote My Mister so I’m pretty stoked. Her writing in terms of dialogue in MM was very good!
It’s giving me Midnight Runner vibes lol in a good way. Son Seok Koo in the trailer though *swoon*. I think it’ll be a mixture of comedy & drama. Nice to see JHI as a ML in something that isn’t a typical romance/melodrama.
Finally!!!!! Been waiting forever lol. Looks fun & interesting. Seems like it’ll be lighthearted but also serious. Maybe a mixture of human drama. Either way, I’m excited for it.
I’m more interested in watching Jung Hae in D.P. than Snow Drop.
JHI has always been the kind of actor that has a lot of potential to do BIG great things but his recent drama works as the ML has been uninteresting to me. Really hope he branches out from the usual ‘melodrama’ because he indeed has the acting chops to prove it. I was first introduced to him in Prison Playbook. Even though a support role, I was captivated by JHI’s performance.
Kim Shi Ah was great as Young Ashin. For some reason, I didn’t cry watching 2 seasons of Kingdom but this one ep alone, I teared up. The crying scenes were very moving from both KSA and JJH’s performance, especially KSA.
For an 90min special, it did feel a bit uneventful lol. It doesn’t have the exhilaration nor momentum as the show. There were lots of panoramic wide shot/overpass in the show which made it appear very cinematic. Visually, this special ep. felt a tad flat, but not terrible just less immersive. The directing is not as tight/clean. The characters were also underutilized. I wished there were more interaction or a full out brawl between Ashin & Ai Da Gan. The writing/dialogue was okay. But overall I liked it.
I wanna see Ashin & Prince Chang duke it out in Kingdom S3.
WQ recently got accepted to Central Academy of Drama, one of the top acting university in China. Scored 1st for both the acting and directing majors. Congrats!
She went from acting in a movie w Song Joong Ki and starring in one of the highest budget dramas to acting in…
Saw the cast for her upcoming drama and I’m not really feeling it. NJH might prove me wrong but I have to see about that. And for Bo Na, I’m not familiar with her. KTR is a prolific-great actress so I would like so see her with a cast of her caliber like in her films.
How do I get past the first episode? Tried three times but couldn't finish it even once. And what's up with those…
I’m not a huge fan of close-up shots queue in the melo-drama songs in the background but since it’s through NB’s perspective, it is like lenses where the audience see what NB sees. Although it can be annoying if it’s over done repeatedly. It’s like I get it the first time lol anymore closeups we’ll see the hair in the noses lol.
Will it air soon?

WQ’s bday is next month so she’ll be 18.
