A love never lost was also a series I wanted to watch but it got pulled under the rug unfortunately 🥲 & night wanderer.
If you want an unconventional historical - espionage drama then the wind blows from longxi is it. Amazing cinematography & top tier acting/cast. Really nice production. Longest Day in Chang An is also top tier cinematography + production. Superb set design & costume.
If you like straight up action + martial arts then Heroes (2020) will definitely do. Really clean well choreographed action sequences. There’s so many c-dramas no time to watch lol. But yes do check some of these out.
I’m surprised most kdrama watchers have not heard of Six Flying Dragons. It’s not a fantasy kdrama but a coming of age/historical action about the Goryeo period to Joseon period. It’s 50+ ep.
For c-drama if you want a bit romance, plot, & hint of action, try who rule the world, rebel princess, the long ballad, Evernight, side story fox valont.
If you don’t care about romance but more into story based plot + characters & action there’s longest day of Chang an, heroes (2020), the wind blows from Longxi. They’re also strange tale of tang dynasty. Older ones would be Nirvana in Fire (which I have yet to watch). C-dramas are better pulling off action sequences + martial arts .
I watched halfway but dropped it. If you want something that doesn’t take itself too seriously & have nothing else to watch then yes. It has romance, some nice character development, but a bit over the top.
Idk why, bigstars these days choosing only makjeong type dramas😪😪
It’s popular nowadays. But yeah I agree. Narrative wise, makjang tends to be too over the top, boring & safe lol. It’s like everyone just wants to do rich makjang or either law stuff.
