For me, I get annoyed at how the characters change after getting together, but they are consistent here.
But I think the fact we know there will be a separation in the future I think makes a difference too. They are trying to get as much together before she leaves....but she may leave soon as taxi killer seems to be motivated to strike sooner.

He sang as a guest singer, not as part of the band. It could be that he does become a singer, but more of a solo artist.

He really didn't join the band, he just filled the venue with people.

It is turning into a vendetta because she has been messing with his routine.

I see your point. I just got the impression when I watched it he was super depressed, full of guilt and really had no fight in him. I mean he just let her go in ep 1, compared to ep 8 where he ran to her side to grab her.
So I felt like he didn't have too much will to live in the beginning but was changing because of her.

I agree he was killed in ep 1 buy the killer, but it was also a suicide...I think he was so depressed and felt guilty he let the killer kill him since there was no struggle. But after the second jump, he actually fought the guy, showing his will to live had come back.
My feeling is after the third time he will find a way to live and change what Sol knows to happen.

I don't like noble idiocy tropes either...but I will say I do think it passes in this case.
She has tried before to tell him straight what is going on, but the rules of the universe will not let her tell him the future.
She has tried actively to protect him before and interfer with his life....but he was still attacked.
Since she knows the taxi killer went after SJ because he helped put him in jail, she is trying to keep them apart and never meet because of her cause she can't tell him not to save her. He is going to anyways.

Not everything is explained in the show regarding the killer, but this is what is known.
The killer originally picked her as a target back in 2008, but was caught in original timeline by SJ which caused him to have a vendetta towards him and thus attack him.
After Sol's 2nd time jump, the killer was not caught in 2008, but in 2009 by SJ when the killer again tried to kill her.
So in 2023, he attacks SJ for putting him in jail and twarting his killing spree.
The reason the killer attacks Sol the first time is not clear. They have hinted he is a serial killer, so she must fit the type of victims he likes to pick. But it is clear that he is very upset she got away alive and wants to finish the job.

Just caught a detail at the end of ep 10 missed before.
When the screen in modern time changed, it removed the report about his attack from the killer to the new threesome eclipse band.
Tells us two things:
1. His attack/death has now changed
2. He does not become an idol
3. The new album name is called "destiny"

To me this hints he lives, but not as an idol. I think he will be a songwriter and he was the one to write the new album... The band will want to have him keep writing for them.
But the attack was changed...we don't know how yet.

I understand your view, but I don't think he ever wanted to be a performer/idol. He seemed fine with song writing, but he never seemed thrilled with performing...Everytime he did, he was pretty much dragged into it.
I can see him continuing to song write though.
I do see him perhaps going into song writing as he likes it, but also acting to be close to Sol since she wants to be a director.

Now that SJ understands she is from the future and that she does love acnd are for him, he is going to handle her being cold to him much better as he knows she will love him in the future.
Him being an actor I think will be so he can be around her so that when she is back he will jump on it to be with her. Also since he will most likely know about her worries about the kidnapper, he may hover around to protect her.

I am happy he knows she is from the future and loves him so much she even came to the past for him. This will give him the peace of mind to handle her stand off behavior when she goes back as he knows she loves him in the future and you bet he will be ready waiting for her.

I don't think he ever really wanted to be an idol/performer in the first place. He kind of got sucked into it.
The question is what does he do instead? Swimming? Songwriting? PE teacher?

She is avoiding SJ as she believes that if she can prevent SJ from being involved in her second kidnapping in college and apprehends the killer herself, then the he will not seek out SJ in the future and try to kill him for interfering. This SJ will not get hurt nor die.
Obviously this is a very flawed plan, but Sol is currently thinking mainly with her emotions and not logic. She is very traumatized due to his previous death and now near murder. Under that kind of shock, you won't make the most rational of decisions.
Plus quite frankly she is generally not a very logical person normally, nor the smartest.
But this is the best plan she can think of under the circumstances. And while it hurts to separate from him, the trade off of him not dying or being killed in the future is more important

I rewatched ep 8 and was struck with a thought... What if there is a hidden fourth time slip. But the last one is SJ caused by the clock she gave him?
So third time slip she avoids him, but another unaccepted result happens and he is okay, she is not. Then SJ time slips and does the last fix that makes it all good in the end.

True, but at the same time, Sol had already changed her friends future. She hadn't married her brother before, but this time she did...

All clues point to the taxi driver being the fulcrum point that SJ's live hinges on.
Note when she first came back, it was hours later after she first jumped back in time. And SJ was still dead.
After changing things with the taxi driver killer, she came back long before his final concert when he was alive.
So changing the past with the killer is the key.
TS will play a part, he has already caught on the there is a future Sol. So I think that she will leave him an important mission during her next time travel.
And lastly some have mentioned how can SJ fall for her so quickly after meeting again having it been so long... The answer is that SJ had just a crush with 19 year old Sol, but had fallen in love with 34 year old fan girl Sol after interacting with her. Thus when meeting the real 34 year old Sol, he just fell back in love with her. And he loved how she was the same person he remembered.
And it seems he buried his pining for her deeply...it was only when he was drunk that he exposed himself.

I agree that in real world, the logic used in dramas doesn't work. Facts.
But to on the flipside in context of the story, we need to understand that most of SJ's intimate moments with Sol has been with 34year old Sol, not 19 year old Sol. So meeting Sol again, she acts the same and behaves just like he knew. Thus he was quick to fall back with her, she is the same. That is why when she started nagging him he was happy, it was exactly the same as before.
So I would say he had a crush on 19 year old Sol, but had actually fallen in love with 34 year old Sol.

The man is such a gonner for her. he tried hard to hide it, but he is a straight up doormat when it comes to her.

He was a gonner the min he first met her in highschool....there never was any chance for him.
But I do wonder if anyone has fallen that hard for someone in real life? Is it possible?
