some of the reviews i’ve read on different platforms suggest how they hated some aspects of the show, however i’ve been watching cdramas for years and you honestly have to get used (particularly in xianxia) the miscommunication between the leads, for example how BJS and HRY entire discourse was them not openly communicating the truths to each other.
and if the production removed the misunderstanding elongation then the drama would probably be only 20 episodes, and most xianxia dramas a fuelled by the leads having hidden secrets, but i see no point in that if it’s going to be revealed in the end so why would you go through all that pain and suffering just to tell them anyway. it’s like miscommunication is a filler just so they have longer episodes.
and for this drama particularly misunderstanding is essentially what leads them both astray and into the wrong path, and caused them to ‘hate’ another.
just finished this drama in one day and oh my god.
it has genuinely exceeded my expectations, from clips that i was seeing it didn’t look promising but it totally BLEW ME away.
imo it’s different then a lot of xianxia dramas, and i think that’s what made it stood out. other than the typical lovers killing eachother, bloodspitting scenes and miscommunication it’s still an amazing drama. each episode kept me hooked.
i literally bawled my eyes out every episode from ep 21, bc i didn’t expect it to be that hard hitting.
Why even they go there?that people ruined her daughter life.😒
her father wants to preserve his family honour and status in the village, he’s scared that the ‘commotion’ qingqing caused ruined his families reputation and so the only way out is for him to punish his own daughter.
which is disgusting, instead of protecting and defending her he turns against her and sides with the family that has caused his own daughters death.
the novel makes me hate the qiao family even more, li fang hao obsession with ‘protecting’ qingqing is one of the main reasons why she runs away. there’s a difference between protecting and manipulating, why is lfh using bei yu situation as an excuse for her behaviour.
if she really cared why would she publicly humiliate her daughter, making comments about students (mingsheng) and expecting for her daughter to not get bullied in school.
his voice is so soothing!!!
so nan heng and li shiliu are two different people am i right or not?
bc there was this clip of the potential ending and it looked like nan heng character, but in the trailer she falls in love with lishiliu???
so could there be no possibility of nh and lsl being the same person?

posted a tiktok of them being in a historical wuxia drama, with my own plot and a few months later they’re having their own project.
ty cdrama gods.

put them in another project together!!!
however im not excusing her other actions bc as well as protecting she’s caused the most harm to her daughter
in the novel i think the mother has depression and suicidal thoughts so qq wants her to go treatment but away from her family

how are you going to let your daughter be belittled and screamed at by other family members for THEIR wrongdoings.
