My Liberation Notes

Citizen of the World🕊️
On Hospital Playlist Season 2 Jun 24, 2021
The premise of this drama fits it to a tee -- every day is extraordinary for five doctors and their patients inside a hospital, where birth, death, and everything in between coexists -- so true. From the first season to this second one, Hospital Playlist continues to be my happy place; it's heaven-sent. I am in love with all of them!

Oh, no, I don't want to hate Lee Sang Yeob, but he doesn't appear to be pleasant in this one, at least not yet. We shall see; I liked this first episode. Very realistic

Amazing directing -- the up-close lingering shots and angles combined with the slow, deliberate scenes are just remarkable. I love the camera work. Far from a typical k-drama. Great acting as well. No disputing Na Bi and Jae Eon's chemistry is flaming hot, they have my interest for sure, but I find myself drawn more to Yoon Sol. I cannot wait for her backstory.

Many elements make this show: the high-end production design, the great acting, the set, beautiful outfits, styles, and even the OST, which sets the tempo and brings character to the drama. Kim Seo Hyung elevates Mine with her performance. She thoroughly embodies the layered character of Seo Hyun so brilliantly that without her, Mine wouldn't be as good as it has become. I love how our three strong women worked everybody from the Chairman to the nun and the police. They had it all planned to the "tee," as they say. This show clearly articulates that everybody has secrets — until they get caught or maybe not; we shall see.

That's what makes Voice quite scary when you think about it because you see all these horrible things happen in…
I tried to look it up but couldn't find a reference to it at least not in South Korea, there are few in the US and Europe so I am wondering if that's what they meant when they said the case was based on true events.

Yes, Kang does a quick recap in the beginning of episode 4 so you get sort of a big picture summary --- oh, I am glad you like them, they are true gems.

Exactly, and to think that today's episode is based on something someone actually did, I was like wow.

That today's episode and probably most of Voice 4's cases to come may be based on actual events is horrifying, but it's what makes the drama so realistic. That's one thing Voice always had -- realism. But seriously, with that cliffhanger ending could, now we have to wait a whole week to find out what happens. I bet that man with clinical lycanthropy is the lady from the wood's son, the one she's been looking for; he seemed to recognize her until she said he was scaring her.

The conversation between Seo Hyun and Han Jin Ho was so wholesome... How he accepted everything Seo Hyun was saying…
I agree, its the moment that touched me the most this episode

Same 2 and 3 were not that great despite 2 garnering the highest rating of all three seasons combined. I think this one will be good though, the first episode gives very good vibes

Can you watch this and skip season 2 and 3?
Yes, even though seasons 2 and 3 connect, as there seems to be a criminal organization or enterprise that's involved at a very high level in how events turn out in both 2 and 3 and seem to spill into 4 as well. You can most definitely watch 4 without the others. Season 1, however, is the best to date. What's more, Kang gives a synopsis if you like the past season at the opening episode of each episode that may help you summarize things.

An impactful opener, I must say. I've enjoyed watching the Voice series, but I have to say nothing compares to the first installment despite the success of the others. It is good to see Lee Ha Na back as Kang Kwon Joo; there is something very soothing about how she acts. However, I am most interested in the badass female villain described in the synopsis, and as I say this, I am reminded of Baek Hyang Hee from the Uncanny Counter; now, she was badass. And this one appears to be as good, at least for now. Anyways, this villain may be Kang Kwon Joo's most powerful adversary yet. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have Song Seung Heon this season. I am not a die-hard fan, but I've enjoyed some of his work and think he is one of the sexiest South Korean actors. Very pleasing to the eyes. With that said, I look forward to seeing what this fourth season brings -- OCN has yet to disappoint me in anything it has put out. And what an opening, ending scene, and OST -- Wow, I am very interested. I don't think I left like this since Voice season 1!

Wow, I can't believe I made it this far disliking a female lead so much. I feel like I am watching a different…
I find it quite interesting that "selfish" is what you picked up from this drama.
