I'm torn between wanting them to admit their love for each other or keep on doing whatever they're doing... I think it's going to be a SE so it's easier to watch if they aren't completely together. But it is also frustrating to watch them not communicate their feelings. I feel that the doctrine leader is going to force Miao Feng to kill Ziye but he will be unable to do it and is going to die. I also think that Ziye is going to meet Tong soon and discover he has the golden needles in his head and will remove them so he can recover his memories.
I'm sad that the secondary couple gets to live the life the main couple should have had with their own daughter. I wish somehow that Feng Yuan didn't get pregnant when she did, the rest of the events could happen, somehow they manage to save the tree, and then when the pomegranate tree blooms at the end she gets pregnant and they live happily ever after.
That being said, it was a beautiful and tragic story and I'm ok with the ending they gave. You could see it building up over the last several episodes.
I ended up feeling sad for pretty much every character. Nearly everyone had lost someone, be it a parent, lover, sibling, or friend. Everyone around Xiao Yao lost someone. Her parents lost each other, the King of Haoling lost his wife/Xiao Yao's mother (although it was a one sided love), Cang Xuan lost his parents and Xiao Yao. No one really had a happy relationship. Even A'Nian and Xin Yue got the man they wanted, but not the love.
Jing is not my favorite, but I understand why Xiao Yao wanted to be with him. But I think in several decades from now, once she had the time and opportunities to discover herself and grow and mature more, Xiang Liu would suit her more. They could challenge each other and grow in each other's love. Jing seems more like a first love... learning about relationships and loving someone. He gave her what she needed at the time.
Viki announced on their IG page that it will air on July 9th.
Thank you! You are today's hero! I went and followed them on IG. Looks like I will watch on mobile tomorrow and then rewatch on the tv when it comes out.
I hated her and felt sorry for her at the same time. She'd been through so much, yet made it worse for herself…
I also felt sorry for her, but she did absolutely nothing to redeem anything about herself. By the time she died, it had been some time since we saw the flashbacks of her sad story and stuff like killing her father and treating people like they are nothing were fresh in my mind.. so I was like, bye girl!
I loved it and gave it 10/10. However, I really don't think A'Li would've fallen for the trick of Duke Su telling her to come over and talk. Maybe she got caught up in her feelings and worry so she overlooked it. Even when the Duke found out that she had been taken, he said it was a diversion and saw through it immediately. A'Li was just as smart as him, so it was a bit disappointing seeing her fall for that.
I could not stand Wanning at all! The actress did a great job. She was extremely psycho. It's been awhile since I wanted a female character to die so badly in a drama.

Sadly, it just wasn't meant to be. π
