Deserves more attention. Definitely on the higher end of all currently airing c-dramas for me. Yeah its nothing revolutionary and pretty full of tropes - but its really solid. Save for some occasional dodgy dubbing which is expected, this is well made (especially for a romcom). Production and acting are solid. Verdict - worth a go.

I think the synopsis and tags might be wrong.. Not even really a spoiler since it's in the summary - she catches her SO cheating - BUT they aren't married and don't seem to have a kid. Bit confused and slightly thrown off.. Not really sure what happened there?!? kinda confused. Maybe its a totally different other guy that she marries in a bit? but that doesn't seem quite right either.

Warning folks episode 21 (dvd version) is a proper hump to get over. 22 is looking up a bit. Hopefully enough to forgive the mini train wreck we've been subjected to for the last few.

agreed. he's not dislikable all in all but when there's a calculating shrew like xiao qing around you just wish he could be a little more emotionally intelligent .......

Getting pretty frustrated by xiao qing's nonsense at this point.. latest episode is tipping me over the edge a bit with the whole botched confession bull. SBS has to get his act together QUICK.

We've reached the jump! For those worried about the school arc being super weird - it's not. It's entirely one-sided throughout and about as normal as a portrayal of unrequited love can get. Glad they didn't drag it out unnecessarily. Minor spoiler there is also some degree of resolution prior to the skip which should let people who feel uncomfortable about the teacher thing catch a breath. Almost to the point where I question whether the taboo tag should even be on here given that the actual parties involved are squeaky clean - not good or bad per se, just a thought. As contentious as it seems to have been thus far we're only just over a third into the show. I'm treating the beginning as a prolonged intro at this point. Hopefully things get interesting and hold momentum till the end.

Ultimately I think it's important not to take everything too seriously. If this was real life I would be the first…
Just trying to take a neutral position and play devil's advocate is all. I think it's also very important to consider WHO gets to decide what's right and wrong. Even if you just take this comments section as an example it's abundantly clear that no-one ever agrees on anything - and that's a pretty good thing if you ask me. As long as people are civil and reasonable it's great to have discussions with people with different perspectives. I think to both of your points it is definitely important to recognise the power of media and its influence on our lives - even more so on more impressionable younger folks etc.. I also feel that the state of 'Art' at any given time is highly reflective of the state of humanity in general as well - poisoned society makes poisoned media. BUT, while I think that is true in theory the key point is again what I mentioned above - Who gets to decide? What is the standard? This student x teacher thing notwithstanding, there's violence, other sexual, psychological and representation issues etc. that are always controversial and subject to great debate as to how they are or whether they should be depicted in media. I think it's way more complicated than just right or wrong. If I wanted to be wholly sure I'd only be exposed to "ok" media I might as well just go to a church - and even then there's bound to be stuff that I don't agree with (So I guess we're screwed either way). At the end of the day I think the kinds of conversations that come out of it are what matter the most - just like this one. I didn't come away from this show thinking "hmm I want to be a teacher and love kids", instead it's an opportunity to think about and refine the good values and perspectives I already have. Also, I think it's important to remember the context of all this - this is Asian media where presidents would sooner strip naked live than you'd see a boob on mainstream television. Yeah there's right and there's wrong but it sure would be nice to just take a step back and try to enjoy what we can.

This is absolutely not a taboo concept. It’s illegal and purely wrong. Why romanticise a teacher-student relationship?…
Ultimately I think it's important not to take everything too seriously. If this was real life I would be the first to to agree that inappropriate and/or predatory relationships are absolutely not ok. But the key point is that this is a drama. Stories are meant to be and have always been a place where the things you couldn't do or wouldn't do in real life have a place to live themselves out. The majority of literature and art of all kinds depict things that would be unthinkable or downright illegal in real life. I trust that viewers watching are mature enough and have the moral conscience to discern fantasy from reality. If anyone still personally doesn't want anything to do with the subject matter because it doesn't sit well or contradicts personal values then by all means choose not to watch or partake. It's just that it was abundantly clear from the get go what this show is about. Hence it seems slightly silly that people are offended and surprised by something that was overtly stated at the very beginning in BIG BOLD LETTERS.

It's never the person the show wants us to suspect, the killer is trying to frame him I guess. I wonder why though?…
EXACTLY! I think that's why it doesn't feel very gripping

With these types of dramas I think the constant "is he, isn't he" limbo is where the bulk of the suspense comes from and since JDJ seems so obvious that I would legit hate for it to be him literally everyone else except the leads are sus to me. Maybe that's why it feels relatively less engaging at this point?

Definitely what I was thinking but I feel in other mystery/thrillers like there's usually a whole lot more suspicious characters iykwim.. Like right now everything points to JDJ and only just now maybe JGY. I guess the writer is trying to surprise everyone with a hella plot twist out of left field but rn I don't really know how to feel??!
