Someone who is asexual and someone who is not seem so wildly incompatible and I feel like even the premise of…
Not necessarily. An asexual person can have a romantic relationship with someone who isn't. Now it will depend on how they will present asexuality and the relationship dynamics.

This drama felt like home. It's both timeless and nostalgic, especially considering that despite that it came out 30 years ago, most of us in our mid-20s and early 30s can relate to the ambiguity and uncertainty that the characters experience.

completely. I would have rather had the story focus more on the main characters and FL interactions with her family - those scenes were wholesome.

I watched this show bc I love the lead actors. The premise was interesting, but I think the plot went south halfway…

Finally I found time to watch this. The ridiculousness is golden, and definitely the best part of the drama, but 18 episodes were too much and dragged the story. Revenge dramas have the habit of starting off really well and then go down the usual route of the coyote chasing the road runner.

Exactly my take from this. People expected way too much from a Ro-Co story wise. Base story was simple but production…
Tbf it had potential, if they focused on the story rather than the glitters and sparkles, so I can see why he might have been interested in it. I watched it because of him tbh, I've liked his work since Master's Sun and Reply 1997. Looking forward for See You at Work Tomorrow as well.

Same, that aspect should have been introduced into the story earlier, at least by episode 4, while exploring the office life and the characters overall more.

Something that bothered me personally, but more because I'm in the arts, is that her best friend as an art teacher got a touch too invested into AI lol. But that was another issue, most characters remained very superficial and we didn't get any depth except for the 2 main characters (and barely for the ml).

Fair point, and I enjoyed the 2nd half more because In Guk carried the story from there on, even as a virtual character. Jisoo is not a bad actress but yea, so far she's average and lacks the experience to carry half a show on her own.

In DAYS, Bo Young is as an exceptional actor as In Guk, and can carry a story by herself, even if the plot lacks in more ways than one. We were also properly introduced to both characters from the beginning, even though Saram's context came much later on into the story.

For me the secondary storyline in DAYS dragged the whole plot, while Boyfriend on Demand barely had one because everything was centred on AI.

If they had shifted the focus from AI to the actual real characters (and relied less on cameos), it had potential to be much better.

yes exactly. I didn't mind that there wasn't any family involved, but Gyeong Nam's personality and life could have been explored more. like we had more context builtup with the virtual characters, and I feel that was a bit of a missed opportunity. but overall still fun.

Again, it's very cute and light hearted, which makes it a good show for when you want something fluffy to unwind.

I still think that the virtual dating took too long, especially the arc with Eun Ho (Even tho I love Kang Jun). That being said, I did like the parallelism between Eun Ho and her past relationship and her burnout being exposed which led to her escaping in this virtual reality, (and in turn trying to fix her past relationship through it). But that arc could have been wrapped up by ep 4. In my opinion the juxtapositions and parallelisms between Gyeong Nam and Yeong Il deserved a little bit more exploration (especially her logging off and being present in real life).

I've seen some complaints about Jisoo's acting, and in my opinion she did a pretty good job. Seo In Guk was great as always. Overall still served it's purpose as a fun cute drama, so I'd still say it's an 8/10.

The title itself suggest that it will be more about the virtual dating
Yes and no. It suggests that she uses virtual dating to run away from reality, but eventually she still finds herself and relationships irl. We're half way through the show and expect to see some more built up between her and real relationships (friendships and otherwise).

Still very cute and serves it's purpose as a light fun show to unwind. And that being said I do like the parallels between her burnout, past relationships and her escape towards virtual reality (maybe it needed it a little bit more balance with the present reality tho - but I'm still on ep5 so we'll see).

Title First Love Spoiler
Omg yes! I’m on episode 4 and I’m so mad at her mom. It’s so cruel what she’s doing (hiding the letters,…
Right, like not doubting that her mother had the best intentions. Most parents think security comes with finding a partner that has a better background or is financial stable. Even if she didn't approve of Haru after the accident, if she just trusted her daughter and had encouraged her to stay in college Yae's life would have been much better even if Yae stayed alone.

My thoughts exactly! Ji Sung’s acting range in that one was insane 🤯🤩
Rami and Segi would have been best buds hahaha

Title Marry My Husband Spoiler
I watched the japanese version first, which I loved especially because it doesn't drag and it kept the story concise in 10 episodes.

this one was doing great up until ep 11, and soomin is a touch more unhinged in this version. from ep 12 it seems like we got an unnecessary added conflict when the main villains were already enough on their own for a solid story telling.

edit: finished it, and definitely it didn't need the crazy fiancee arc. Minhwan and Soomin were enough as villains, and they didn't need Yura as motivation to kill Jiwon (especially Soomin). For that reason, imo the japanese version did a better job at concluding the story. but both are great and enjoyable to watch.

Incurable case of love (2020) is the opposite and it's pretty well received 🙂
I used those examples to show ml rejected fl who keeps on confessing, and still it was well received by viewers.

In this case, she gave a reason why, not just 'I want to focus on my career' and that's it. She's not used of being taken care of, as the eldest child she's the caretaker and the main source of income for her family to survive, which is why her career is a priority for her. While yes it is obvious that she cares for and is attracted to him as well.

I mentioned it as an example where the ml constantly rejected the fl, and it's also set within a workplace setting. Also, if I remember correctly, in Itaewon Class, the fl was the one that confessed first and was rejected by the ml for similar reasons. :)

Most of the time it's a pretty valid reason choosing not to have a relationship to focus on other things, regardless whether it's the fl or ml who say it.

I totally agree with you. I actually like the pacing as well amd the characters. It really is not the most stressful…
ikr, I've watched shows that were all doom and gloom, this one is still witty when it needs to be.
