I think releasing 1 episode a day just when the pacing of the story becomes slow is not a very good idea and a lot of companies are choosing to do it :/ I think it can drive away some people from finishing it
● the main leads were so cute on today's episodes, so many butterfly-inducing scenes >ن< ● 10/10 for when he said she's decisive and commanding and he likes to be her obedient husband that waits for her at home lmaooooo ● I absolutely love the second leads but I think they're dragging it a little with making his character annoy her at every moment. I get that they switched behavior but idk it's starting to feel intrusive on his part ●ik everyone's saying it but I truly LOVVVVEEE how shameless the ML is lol he's reached celestial levels of being down bad and I absolutely love to see it AAAAHHH God bless the pathetic loverboys
● can someone explain the scene when the FL's servant asked the ML's servant "is your brother's name Di Fang?" ? I felt like there was a reference/context that I didn't have to understand that joke
honestly l I wasn't expecting this to be so good lol, I'm really impressed.
in episode 22, there was a back and forth in the background of their kiss, I'm not exactly sure when those words were originally spoken but I thought they were so beautiful and they added so much to the kiss
"Please, just save yourself." "My love, nothing else matters..."
I had to pause and replay that part because omgggg who WROTE THAT aaaaaaaahhh <3
Without any intention of diminishing your opinion, I have to say that I find it difficult to understand your analysis…
Yeah, you know what? the ML was just as flat and 1 dimensional lmao... I was very focused on the FL since she was the main character who was on my screen for the majority of the time, but you're right, there's not that much of a difference. They're both not very well written as characters.

No no, I don't believe that her lack of personality had anything to do with her melancholy. I think you can be melancholic and sad and still have a personality, and she didn't :/ a good example of this is the kdrama We're All Trying Here where almost every character is deeply melancholic but they all have distinct personalities and depth. And they're all very lovable and even I as a viewer cared about them and understood why the other characters cared about them as well. Meanwhile, on this drama, I felt like the FL here had no depth, she only had a sad backstory and that's it. It's almost like when the writers created her character, they just decided on "sad and pretty" without adding any complexity or any actual distinct traits that make her her own person.
and by "a lack of life" I didn't mean a lack of enthusiasm (though I understand why you might think I meant that) I meant a lack of human complexity (aka what separates a realistic character from a 1 dimensional character)
edit: to make it even clearer, my criticism is from a writing perspective. I'm criticizing the writers for creating a flat character and putting no effort into it, I'm not criticizing the character as a person, because I don't even think she was written well enough to be dissected the way you would dissect a complex and realistic character..
(and the first episode reminded me of These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong)

I'm really liking the friendship between Miao Jing and Tu Li... I really love how much cdramas rarely encourage female rivalry

And I don't know what you mean by "desert"....
